Sam Shannon Showcase

Is anyone on here going to this? A buddy's DD is supposed to and I was wondering if it is a good showcase.

The college coach list looks about the same as the Kansas tournament the same weekend, but it's half the drive.

We played it last year, and it wasn't a bad field to play...but a horrible field to play ON. The three Texas teams all played three teams from the home club...and they were feasting on some home cooking...aside from that, the 6 inches of rain made the fields almost unplayable. There weren't that many college coaches out there for freshmen when it was 45 degrees and rainy...

That was our first experience, and without the rain it would have been a lot of fun...and there might have been some college coaches as well...we would have gone again if we had gotten some exposure. The complex is nice, and the fields would have been good...The names have changed, but the Umelo team would be equivalent of the top 6 or 8 of D1...the Richardson team was nearer the bottom of D1 or very top of D2...the Willis team would have been battling in the middle of D2 this year...

45 degrees and raining doesn't sound like a good time for the parents but I bet the kids had fun in the mud. Seems their team may not be able to go after all. So probably a non issue. Thanks for the info though.

Why is your team not going? The tournament is only two weeks out.

There is some sort of issue with having enough players. Not really sure.
