The Future of FBR 06AP and 05AP
The Future of FBR 06AP and 05AP
I will continue to include all games played in U10 divisions in FBR. Whether a team be named 06, 06AP or 05AP they will be included in the published FBR rankings if they play in U10 divisions.
If your 06 team has decided to split into a 05AP and/or 06AP team please let me know and I will remove your original 06 team from the rankings and once the AP team has 3 games in they will be included instead. (The games played with the original 06 team will be in the data until the games drop off, but the team name will be removed from the published rankings list. )
Some 05AP teams are beginning to register for tournaments in U11 and plan to register in leagues that are 05AP in the U11 division for Spring. This means they can have players on their teams born January to July 2005 on them which are older players than the FBR currently has. For this reason any games played in a U11 division will NOT be included in FBR.
The FBR I produce will slowly transition to a 06AP FBR once I have enough data to produce it. Hopefully by end of February or early March I will have enough data to do this.
I do not plan on producing a 05AP FBR as originally planned since it appears both groups will be going select this summer. If there is someone who would like to take on the task of 05AP FBR I will be happy to share my file with them so they can get started. I do not think a 05AP FBR will be anywhere near accurate until May – June when the current select players are free to play with teams in tournaments. But I do feel like an accurate 05AP FBR for qualifying could be produced with May and June data before the 05AP group goes select. Hopefully LH will iron out the qualifying details for the AP 05 group soon!

Current Rankings include all insults hurled at BW Gophers publicly on txsoccer.net since 8/1/15. If your username did not move as you would expect, it is likely due to the difference in quality of old insults that dropped from the history vs. new insults that have been recently added to the database.

Youth soccer is utterly ridculous from a parent involvement perspective and it begins with ranking 8 and 9 year olds who could care less about a stupid ranking system . And don't reply with .... SeaBass and 2 girls; Take your pick, don't look at the rankings, ignore the rankings or get off the site. Parents spend thousands of dollars on dues and hours driving kids to matches and practices. Why would they not care who the top teams are months before they sign a one year contract with a club?
If you want to complain about over involved soccer parents, I am sure there are plenty of therapists willing to take your money and give you an hour of their time. Stop whining on this site.

Dropping in from the land of 03/02 . The FBR Ranking is a really nice thing that BWGophers does for the community. The ranking gives folks who are new to NTX Soccer a way to quickly understand which clubs and coaches are competing well with other teams. Human nature being what it is, parents who want their kids to compete on "better" teams try out on higher ranked ones. So on average they get "better" over time. As has been said and re-said, you're paying and playing so having a data point won't hurt unless you invest too much in it.
We looked at Ranking and didn't make any decisions based on it but it's still a guilty pleasure. A fairly hard reality is that with about 80% accuracy over time the top FBR ranked teams will probably be in D1 and will get the nicer slots in LH as well as the more overinvolved/committed kids and parents. If you're DD isn't in the slot, their world will not end. I have 4 kids. Only one of them is doing Select Soccer. The rest are doing just fine without it.
Thanks BWGophers! All you Academy folks, if you haven't already, strap in - it's a crazy ride.

Thanks for the kind words newbie, but I am now in the mode of retired consultant. The credit needs to go to the likes of FBR06, FBR07, and FBR08, who have decided to carry on and provide the service to the current academy age groups.

Seems fair, right? Let's start with 06/07 non age pure group of parents.
Begin...
