Feel free to give your opinions on this (as if you wouldn't). This is strictly based on current scores and games left to play. I have to admit that D1 was a little bit easier to narrow down.

So as of now, Parker has it in their hands to keep the D1 throne with three games left to play in the spring against Solar Chelsea, FCD Premier and the Mustangs. A win against all three would give them a total of 37 points. Parker is the only team with three games to play in the spring so the D1 title will be theirs to win or lose. Andromeda only has one game in the spring – against Sting Garrett as does Solar Elite with a game against Solar Gold. Solar Chelsea will play Sting Parker and Solar Gold. FCD Premier has, what appears to be, the heaviest spring schedule playing Parker and Brown. Even with a win, Brown won’t move into the top five at this point but they could hold on to 6th.

With the one-time changes for next fall, the teams look like this so far. 1-6th teams – Andromeda, Solar Elite, Sting Parker, Solar Chelsea, FCD Premier and Sting Brown (maybe not in this order). These teams may flip flop within the top six, but they will stay top six I think.  Seventh through 12th place get byes and go to the D1 pool playoff matches. These (right now) would be Sting Ferretti, Solar Gold, Sting North Garrett, Dallas Texans North, Sting West and Sting Patulea. So these teams may or may not stay in D1 – dependent upon how the Pool play goes. The Lady Aztecs and Mustangs will move to DII.

DII teams have more games to play in the spring than DI does so this is a bit more iffy, with a number of teams having played only 10 games this fall and their points close enough that there could be a lot of shifts in the upper levels. The teams pretty certain to go to DIII are Sting Central Martin, Liverpool Toshack, Texas Lightning and Meja North. That leaves Solar Silver, DT FTW, Flash and Gunners to re-qualify.

It appears that there will still be open questions in the spring as there are no clear cut winners as yet, although Sting Parker has the strongest chance of taking D1 at this point. My suppositions are based no major upsets in the final games.

Actually Ina I think the race for 6th place will be the one to watch because technically from my calculations there is a possibility of 4 teams fighting for that spot all needing help from others. Brown needs to win their last game against FC Dallas Premier to insure their spot in 6th. Ferretti can take 6th if they win their game against the Mustangs and Brown either loses or ties against FCD and Solar Gold and Sting North lose 1 out of their 2 remaining games. Solar Gold can take 6th by winning both of their remaining games and Sting North losing one of their remaining games. Sting North can take 6th by winning both of their remaining games and Solar Gold losing 1 of their remaining games. Other scenarios exist also but then you get down into all the tie breakers and how they are determined. As far as the games go I don't think Brown's win over FCD is a certainty so that will be one to watch. Ferretti should take their game against the Mustangs but it always depend on which set of girls show up for the game. Gold has Solar Chelsea and Solar Elite to play so they will have a tough road ahead of them as well as Sting North who has Andromeda and Solar Elite to play. Should be a fun race for that last spot.

Good thoughts there McCarthy. Very interesting scenarios. Hopefully all teams will come back healthy and raring to go. Sad that we will have to wait so longk.

Let's see where we are at this time....

1: ANDRO FC (28pts) vs Sting N
2: SOLAR ELITE (27pts) vs SG, Sting North
3: STING-PARKER (24pts) vs Solar Hop, FCD, Mustangs
4: SOLAR Hopkins (23pts) vs SG, Sting Parker
5: FCD PREMIER (22pts) vs Sting Parker, Sting Brown
6: STING BROWN (18pts) vs FCD
7: STING FERRETTI (18pts) vs Mustangs
8: SOLAR GOLD (17pts) vs Solar Hop, Solar Elite
9: STING NORTH (17pts) vs Andro, Solar Elite

A few observations ...
A) Solar's Elite & Hopkins have looked beatable on ECNL showcase weekends
B) FCD is kicking butt and taking names. Will they be as hot in the spring?
C) The mustang are getting better and healthier. Their last 4 games have been extremely competitive... 3 D's and one close L. My sense is one W is coming from somewhere...
D) Ferretti has shown they can tie anyone...
E) Brown in last 7 matches: 1-3-3.
F) SG should be healthy in the spring.
G) Club Solar (who is NOT happy with Club Sting's shenanigans) Spring performance will affect several Sting teams.

Based on the data, my top 6 are:

1-Solar Elite: 31 Pts
2-Andro: 31 Pts
3-FCD: 28 Pts
4-Sting Parker 28 Pts
5-Solar Hop: 24 Pts
6-SG: 21 pts.

Hi Pack,
There are several things that will influence the outcome. 1) How much dedication these teams have to upkeep and improvement in the off season. 2) The number of games left to play for each team. 3) Any off season injuries. The first three are going to be the game changers to me. 4) Does Club Sting break out the big guns again? Here are my thoughts for what they are worth:
1: ANDRO FC (28pts) vs Sting N Ties and have 29 pts., wins, 31 pts., I think a tie is in these team’s future.
2: SOLAR ELITE (27pts) vs SG, Sting North, If SE is healthy and has their normal pack of players, I think they walk away with two wins which puts them at 33 pts.
3: STING-PARKER (24pts) vs Solar Hop, FCD, Mustangs I think Parker wins 1, ties 1, loses 1 which puts them at 29
4: SOLAR Hopkins (23pts) vs SG, Sting Parker, I think SC wins one and ties one giving them 27.
5: FCD PREMIER (22pts) vs Sting Parker, Sting Brown I think FCD wins one and loses one which gives them 25 pts.
6: STING BROWN (18pts) vs FCD Brown loses this match (unless they pull in their extra players and then it will be a tie) So they could have 19 pts.
7: STING FERRETTI (18pts) vs Mustangs I am going with Ferretti for the win and 21 points.
8: SOLAR GOLD (17pts) vs Solar Hop, Solar Elite. I think SG stays at 17.
9: STING NORTH (17pts) vs Andro, Solar Elite – Sting North is facing two teams who feel they have to win. I think they Tie Andro and lose to Solar Elite. This would give them 18.
So, if this all comes to fruition, this would be the top 6:
1. Solar Elite with 33
2. Parker with 29
3. Andro with 29
4. Solar C with 27
5. FCD Premier 25
6. Sting Ferretti 21

There are a lot of ifs in any of the scenarios and we won’t know for sure until the teams come back and play. So at this point, it is a coin toss and every team in D1 can put in their Fantasy ending. The outcomes will come down to team health, extra players, and team fitness. If all teams come back healthy and fit with a “can do” attitude, we should see exciting endings for sure.

what we would need to know come spring is what girls are going to be playing in the High School playoffs, some might have conflicts and might miss a club game...

Also what is the ECNL schedule, will any of the remaining games conflict with ECNL events. You never know which roster will show up and what difference makers will be available... i know i know, none of you guys use dual rosters or CPP so there is no impact, but my eyes tell me something different when i see some of the scores that came in (a few were very surprising...) this last week.

Will it be a fair fight or will some of these teams be bringing a knife to the gunfight....

Only time will tell...

Thanks Sport, another good point on the High School playoffs. Other than an ECNL event in San Diego April 1-3, I don't know what other ECNL events there might be at this point. Currently, there aren't any Texas teams listed for that event. As to knives and guns, I think I would rather bring the gun, I have a lousy aim with a knife. Very Happy
