39 teams... thats pretty low from years past...

I don't think there are masses of '06s playing up, and the JDL impact looks to be only a few teams. 9v9 should be smaller rosters and more teams. I got nothing.

the jdl teams that did not sign up actually would have put this in line with norm.

JDL teams not playing in LHGCL + teams playing up should number around 10 to 12. Somewhere in the low to mid 50s for incoming teams is a good average over the years. There are 40 U11 teams in the QT accepted list.

Actually, what has happened, is that LHGCL has expanded by 1 extra age group this year with AP.  Previously, LHGCL was U11-U17 + U19.  Now this year, you have a separate U18 added as well.

However, the total player pool has only expanded by 5/12 (42%) of a full age group (before AP, you were already going to have the Jan-July '06's joining the league).

So... given that some of those '06's are probably going to remain and play up with their previous '05 teams in U12, + teams playing in JDL only, and it's not a surprise that the total # of teams '06 teams attempting to qualify for LHGCL is down a little bit this year.  The difference in 9v9 vs 11v11 roster size is only ~20%, so that doesn't fully offset the other factors listed above.

I'm still a little unsure.....Can players "Dual" roster?  (Be on a JDL team and a LHGCL team?)

I may be underestimating the number of '06s that are playing up. I got the impression it was just a small handful.

I am wondering if some younger '06s simply chose not to go select. These are girls that just finished 3rd grade.

There are no NTSSA or LHGCL rules that prevent this. So, it's basically up to individual club/coach/team policy.

It appears that DTS is playing both JDL and LH in all 3 age groups. So, yes, players can be "DUAL" rostered.

I know 4 kids who chose not to sign for this and other reasons. Pretty good players too. I'm sure there are others.

the difference between the applied list from 2014 to 2016 is 12 teams. This years list is the same as 2 years ago minus the smaller clubs that were unable to create teams after the AP mandate. If you look at the 2014 list and remove the RFC's Storm's and Sparta's off the list it looks the same as the current one.

Anyone seen or heard what will shake out for those teams having to play in week 2.

1. Drop the group loser from all groups and all #2 and #3 from each group play in the second week to determine remaining d1 and d3 or bring back all 30 teams remaining to figure it out?

FYI...  Historically, they have not placed teams from the same club in the same bracket in week 1.

So under your scenario, they would likely swap Solar Haylock and DT North, swap Sting North Covey with FCD Black, and swap FCD East Blue with SLK Saints.
