Observation: Wish the halves weren't 30 minutes. Would be nice if they were 40, or at least 35 when factoring in the water break. After the break, halves are shortened to 28 minutes. At U15, that's pretty short.

No upsets yet. Should be an interesting race to see who the top second place team will be in claiming the 6th spot.

The extra bye came from the team/s that were invited to Champions League.

Looking good for Kicks... Either tie or score at least a goal and they will qualify...

this is really a sorry way to do it. 20 teams and no 2nd round? all depends on the brackets and several teams get screwed. typical.

especially in this year of team changes, no one has a clue which tems might be much better or much worse. chances are the brackets are not at all even. all the more reason for round 2 to even out the playing field and let cream rise to top.

but then, that wiuld make sense and also wrest some power from lhgcl.

I agree with that. Get the job done, one weekend. If you play bad 2 weekends then the problem will be why have 2 weekends!

Not my team but I will be there no excuses, one weekend before the start of qualifying one weekend at the end. No ones fault but your own if you can't get it done

for the record, my dd is already in and not in this QT, but it's a terrible format and lends itself too much to random chance of getting the best teams, At Best, and too much politics At Worst.

unfortunately there will be several 2nd place teams and maybe 3rd that will be better than some bracket winners.

I doubt that many.... Maybe, just maybe 1 second place..... Just win!!!

Congrats to the 6 teams that qualified for LH D3 this weekend. Surprise award has to go to the Saints ASC sneaking in and taking the 6th spot while nobody was looking. Good for them.

An very interesting format this year with no second weekend means that some good teams such as Evo and Triumph miss out prob due to one bad game. It's shame as both teams are really good and finished at the top of Plano. Congrats to LFC Shankly!!! Added a couple of players, and didn't lose any of their top talent from last year means they should be competitive in D3. Warriors the same, added quality and therefore should be competitive.

After watching things play out over the weekend, I do think there should've been a second weekend added. LH prides themselves on seeding fairly, but seeding is made difficult with the change to AP and unprecedented movement. As the weekend played out it looked like the brackets were a bit unbalanced. Not taking anything away from the teams that made it in. No surprises there outside of the Saints, who no one picked to be there, but got the job done. Congrats to all!

If you can't compete with the teams in qualifying than you have no business playing in d3 plain and simple.  Also don't forget lake highlands also added 2 additional spots Instead of the initial 4.   Every year one or two teams that don't belong get in. That's how it works out

Not sure anyone was slighted by only having 1 weekend of qualifying. Go out and win and you are in. Even if a team had one bad game they could still get one of the posts available to the 2 top 2nd place teams.

Not sure how one can say Triumph missed out due to one bad game. They lost 2 out of 3 and placed 3rd in their bracket.

Congrats to Kicks, my dd played for this coach and with a few if these girls. Great to see them come out strong and make it through the weekend undefeated.

Well if Triumph had won their second game which I think they prob had a good chance too then they may have got wildcard that's the one game. If Evo had won their last game I think they would have been in, that's the one game.  BTW I am not affiliated with either.

System is fair. If Royle had won against FCD they might be in but they won one out of 3 games and that's not good enough to get in. This is a very good team with great parents but they never got the job done in one weekend!

I have to agree with SGS.....the format really doesn't allow any slip-ups.  Not one of the bracket winners lost a game.

     Shankly (2-0-1)
     Cyclones (3-0)
     DT-Red (3-0)
     Warriors (2-0-1)

It's what you need to do to qualify in a one weekend scenario...no losses.  Even if Royle beat the Kicks 3-1, they're still "Out" because of the lose to FCD.  We knew that going in....one goal allowed and we're out.  This was about the game against FCD....we didn't get it done.  We learn from it and move on.  

Yes, the Saints lost a game and still got in.....having a "best 2nd place" allowed for an exception to that rule I mentioned above.  Their 10-pointer against TX-Spirit on Sunday got them that 1-extra precious point to give them the birth over the likes of Evolution, FCD-North and DT-FTW.

Congrats to the teams that qualified.  We hope to see you this year in Tournament play.

Anyone else heard that FC Forc used non rostered players in last game of tournament?
