SGS wrote:Well ECNL players don't give there heart and soul into compared to professional level. What a stupid comment. The best thing about soccer is that it can be played at all levels and ages, then people discuss it and have opinions. This happens world wide and that's why it is the worlds greatest sport. To say people can't have that because the level is not good shows the lack of understanding of what sports is. Also "not good" is relative. Technically ECNL is not good compared to other leagues (la liga) so therefor no one should argue or discuss that.
speaking on nonsense responses........................why you putting comments on me that i never made........................i didn't compare to ecnl or other leagues................................sooooooooooooooooooo not sure how you can call it a stupid comment................................didn't say "people cant have that".............................whatever "that" is..............................and never used the term "not good" either so take your c-r-a-p elsewhere when trying to quote someone........................nothing against people playing at any and all levels.......................they should and thats how the big clubs stay in business.........................................the truth is that as these players get older the drop out of playing or lost interest in the grind of staying competitive to keep pace with those that actually do take it serious and put their "heart and soul" in to the game..............................so part of the way these teams are moving up is due to openings from player and teams vacating roster positions and byes or a slide in their desire to compete at a higher competitive level...................................and the gap between the higher levels of competition widens...............................i wont take a thing away from anyone that wants to play no matter how serious they are and its beautiful to watch at all levels just to see them enjoy doing something thats not playing pokemon go.......................so im sorry if you dont like it but the truth hurts sometimes

Not that I disagree. Mutiny seems stronger than the depleted GSSC team. But Mutiny lost all three games. GSSC had a tie and three losses.
"Teams will play all other teams within their bracket. The 1st and 2nd place teams from each Bracket have earned a spot in Lake Highlands Girls Classic League. The 3rd and 4th place teams will advance to Round 2."
It seems rather unfortunate that of 9 teams that start, only 1 team gets knocked out after the 1st round. But GSSC had the bad luck of being in the bracket of 5. In the other bracket, the last place team still gets a second chance. Being undefeated in Plano during the spring can only get you so far...
Thanks for the explanation. I tried to poke around on my phone to find something but gave up. Does seem a little unfair but I guess in reality, neither GSSC nor Mutiny would ultimately make LH this season. But you never know. Seems like it would be a little hard to swallow not getting the chance just because you were in the wrong bracket.

Wow. That's rough.
Well, whoever makes it after this weekend should certainly have earned it. Hopefully, they don't pull a move like they did last year with Andro Red.

so do rec players............................its not about the time you spend doing it......................its about how you use that time, the time spent above and beyond that, and the attitude a player carries that determines how serious they are..........................good luck with your upcoming seasons.

It's somewhat of a surprise how GSSC fell short, but it is also interesting how things are shaking out for some of last year's 01 teams. Last summer, due to a less than effective setup on Plano's part, there was discussion about whether Plano 2 was stronger than Plano 1. Now as the qualifiers are reaching their final stage and only 1 of the teams from Plano 1 has made LH and only Mutiny and Rockwall in the running for 1 spot. From Plano 2, FCUSA and FC Dallas Red are now in Lake Highlands and both Texas Spirit and Andromeda West (now wearing FC Dallas colors) have decent chance of advancing. I would have given Tony's FCD Silver a strong chance of going in as well if they hadn't broken up.
Who knows? AP at work. Good luck to everyone this weekend, especially you Marvelous.

Re: QT slots available?
I disagree with Nolan's take on Silver- never felt they were strong team. That team fell apart and am aware that some tried to make the FCD Premier and Red teams but don't think any did.

3 made the 01 Premier team (but not last years 01 Premier team), 2 of them defenders who were pretty decent. I think a couple others went for the 00 Premier and didn't catch on. The rest of the "core" went their separate ways and latched on to different teams but not sure which. I don't completely get the '01 Premier team because it was formerly FC Dallas Blue 02 so I guess they used one of their millions of "byes" to move into Classic, completely start over and form a "Premier" team, which plays in D2, not D1,while another FC Dallas team plays in D1...ok. My kid's team will see them this year so we will see how it all plays out.

Re: QT slots available?
So to my boy its me again. It looks like we will be playing in I guess how you call it rec again. If I know my girls they are going to accept the challenge that I put to them. It's me I want you to take a look at Solar 03 boys that played in the rec league last year and their victories at Dallas Cup and becoming one of the best teams in the country. Just saying that their are teams in Plano that can succeed if they choose to. Soccer is a funny game and this year we saw a lot of funny stories.
Here are some examples of some stories that happened at the highest level.
Lecister City. Low payroll, small club, worked it's way from 3rd division to be Premier league champs.
Iceland. A team with very limited high level professionals on it and a Part time coach beating many of the best teams in Europe include England. (to my English coach friends not sure if England is really one of the best teams in Europe and sorry from bringing up that match)
The point is this game that many of us have a passion for is just that a game. I will agree with Its me on one thing. "its not about the time you spend doing it......................its about how you use that time, the time spent above and beyond that, and the attitude a player carries that determines how serious they are..........................good luck with your upcoming seasons."
That is a true statement no matter if your playing this game in the Premier league or a Sunday over 40 league with a few bear drinkers that are fat and out of shape. ( Again sorry to all my fat coach friends as well thanking God that I am still fit at 45)
Anyway it's back to work for these girls to try to be the best they can be. Last year we were one of two rec teams to beat a classic team. I have made it my mission that that becomes a common occurrence with our group next year. We have some matches that are in my "must win list" will we heck nobody knows. As I said before they are 15 year old girls. The thing is I am going to enjoy the ride. Upset we didn't do the job we should have done last week. Heck we already beat a classic team this year being the only side to beat Ajax from our group. All those sipping on LH champagne we looking forward to meeting you guys down the road. I will be the one playing Socca and reggae on the sideline.
