Re: JDL schedule is out
Only 8 teams in JDL U12.
And no Oklahoma teams as some of the rumors suggested.
I hope the panic this summer was worth it.

Games are in Fairview to lure Tulsa.

I heard a rumor that Kicks and Feet are not together anymore. Not sure if true, but it would explain no teams in U12. Thought those spots were going to the two Kicks teams. Anybody else hear anything?

You will have to leave kicks to play JDL.

for a league that promotes development so coaches don't worry about wins/losses, promotion/relegation why make a rule that if you are not registered under USYSA with Dfeeters you can't play in JDL.
Dfeeters and Kicks are still together.
Very simply Texans, Solar, FCD, and Sting voted that Kicks or any club/player cannot play in JDL unless they are registered via USYASA as D'Feeters or a member jdl club.
I guess development means excluding some very good teams and very good players from the pool.
If it's about development why the need for exclusion?

That's an easy one. And it has nothing to do with development.AtThePitch wrote:isikzgez1 wrote:ForReal wrote:Where are the D'Kicks at any age?

If anyone REALLY cares to know why their DOC voted to exclude Kicks - you should ask them
JDL is not about development as much as it is about monopolies and exclusivity

Re: JDL schedule is out
The kicks 05 pool had a high number at this month's US Market Training center.... including an 06....
So either the big 4 feel threatened by Kicks bolstering D'Feeters, the big 4 are threatened by JM, or the big 4 exclude in hope of recruiting.. any of it sound like development....
More like fear and monopolizing a market.

Picture ODP, but run by the actual US Soccer Youth National Staff. Mommy and daddy can't sign you up. Kids are scouted and invited or referred in by a coach. US staff has say so if a kid gets to come back.
So like ODP but nothing like ODP. You can find details on the US Soccer DA page.

C'mon now. Surely you don't think any of the Big 4 are afraid that Kicks or any other club on the outside are going to draw their top players and start taking their teams ... The argument is both silly and mundane at this point.
Yes -- The big 4 are going to eventually take the majority of the top players, then coaches and teams will follow, just as they have already started to. They have the product ... ECNL/DA -- it's just how it is. I'd bet that every post against this ideal in both of these threads today is likely coming from those of you that have DDs playing outside of JDL.
The sooner you get to one of them, the better.

If Kicks is no threat then why the vote?
Simple question.

Re: JDL schedule is out
Plenty of parents with JDL kids or kids in JDL clubs see this as a money grab and exclusionary.
"afraid" of JM and Kicks? Maybe not.
unhappy that JM and 01 Kicks have challenged their ECNL fiefdom? heck yes
ECNL's goal is the pooling of talent. Not much different than the plan of JDL - drawing kids from independents to the Big 5 in order to pool talent, as all those independent kids are ultimately trapped on inferior teams and don't know what's good for them.
JM and Kicks 01 is the exception that breaks their mold. His team is getting visibility that some of the Big 5 wish they were getting. His success challenges their sales pitch.
But again - ask the DOCs yourself. Why did they vote to exclude a coach and teams that have a clear partnership with an ECNL Club - minus the green and white jerseys - that made a decision to retain the Kicks name for some of their teams. Teams that have a clear path to ECNL thru D'Feeters and who would benefit from this ECNL "prep".

Re: JDL schedule is out
JDL is exclusive to ECNL Clubs. If Kicks had truly merged with D'Feeters and were wearing their gear, they'd be in. Not sure why this didn't happen as I don't have intimate knowledge there.
ECNL and DA clubs have those products due to many factors that set them apart. They all must have all of these qualities ... Strong sides in each select age group, a history of success, highly licensed coaches, and most importantly, facilities.
The other clubs that have some talent but don't have the products, don't have them because they are lacking in one or more of those areas.

Re: JDL schedule is out
All teams that were set to play in JDL were to wear the green and we're registered with US Club as Dfeeters...
Done here... waste of time... those of you that don't care to be tested by a larger body of good players in what is suppose to be a developmental league, that requires good players to pull off what they preach, will always have an excuse for why something is done...
Stinks if you ask me...

If that's the case, then agreed Sir. Guessing you're a part of that Kicks group since you mentioned "we're"?
And I thought I knew my 04 age group so didn't think that Kicks had any U13/04 sides strong enough to test other teams at the D1 level, let alone JDL.
Must be a phantom team out there that nobody knows about yet ... 04Rankings?

That should change. More competition is a good thing. Unless some are afraid of it. I say bring it.
