05G Games of the Week (Oct 15/16)
05G Games of the Week (Oct 15/16)
JDL
Solar Pulp vs. Solar Colvin
First meeting between these two teams should be a good one. Technically, Pulp played a split Colvin/Byars squad in the Premier Cup championship game in August and won but that is not indicative of who they will see this Saturday. Both teams are coming off 3 goal performances so offenses are clicking for sure. Colvin's squad has been playing together for a long time and has a Treasure trove of talent but Pulp's squad seems to get better every week. This will be worth the free price of admission.
Prediction: Solar Pulp 2 Solar Colvin 1

Bring it up because I do not know. It stands to reason that Colvin would CPP to Byars to get players more touches. I have heard that Byars does not have a full squad. Just what I have heard. How does this happen if they are in LH? I thought your roster had to be 14 in LH. Does he roster Colvin players to make up for it then pass them back?soccerphun wrote:Correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like only JDL has games on tap for this upcoming weekend. It's a close call for GOTW between Solar Pulp/Solar Colvin and FCD Red/Sting Higgy...but I am going to go with the Solar Civil War to see who has bragging rights for top dawg in the club:

In talking to a Colvin/Byars parent when I was marshalling, they dual roster several of the kids. The dual rostered kids are the bottom of the Colvin roster that don't necessarily get heavy minutes in JDL. Apparently, the rules allow for it. They did not end up with enough kids to fully roster two teams.
The variation is when CPP is used to bring top stars down to play certain games. Witness a 2-2 tie with Fever but then barely beating Spirit. If you've watched any games involving Fever or Spirit, there is a giant difference in skill, style, and speed. Fever destroyed Spirit in their head to head. No way the same squad ties Fever then barely beats Spirit. I was not there, but I would bet the house that Byars' kid (who is a genuine star on the JDL squad) played against Fever.
