Winter Tourneys / LH D1 Spring Preview

Michael Brown Gold Tourney results included 3 of the top 4 squads in LH D1 (Tx Spirit N, Sting Angell, Fever Mariscal) plus other top 10ers (Dfeeters Hollis, Texans Glotzbach) all playing each other with Fever winning it all. Congrats to the Independent.

Looking at the schedule for this Spring and some of these match-ups look tough as well. Predictions??

Fever Phiri 06 also won the Triumph Tourney. Congrats to the Independent.

I've stated before that I have close friends on both teams but truly, it was a nod to Independents that are getting eaten up left and right.

The question was if anyone had any predictions for the LH D1 Spring Season. That is why there are two question marks after Predictions.

I haven't read all your posts, but the ones I have seen are like a Nascar advertisement for Fever...all good, just saying you promote at every turn.

Based on current standings and recent results

Easy pick. DTS will finish #1. Best team in LH.

Fever Mariscal and TSN probably fight it out for 2 and 3. Both play quality soccer and give other team's matchup problems.

Sting North is probably a little bruised after this weekend, but they should be somewhere in the top 4-8. Second half schedule isn't in their favor.

Springate will be top 5. They are the only other (DTS) undefeated team, and they have a really solid keeper and defense.

Colon and Glotzbach will be in the top 6-8. They both have a lot of talent and favorable schedules

After that it's a crapshoot. The next 5 or 6 teams are capable of beating each other and higher ranked teams, but it will likely come down to schedule/matchups.

MS was #1 seed and now we are talking about "top 5". Salute to Fever and Spirit for that.

Spirit being involved in two 0-0 games in the same tournament is noteworthy. Are they a shutdown defense or are they content to pack it in?

I agree. DTS #1 with MS, Fever, TSN, Colon following in no particular order. I think Angell will drop down significantly. Not hating, just an observation and I wish everyone the best.

@06SouthGirl: Did DTS lose two key DDs recently? If so, I hope it was mutual and not an unfortunate circumstance.
