New player to Plano area with select exp looking for team

Any direction would be helpful. My daughter has select team experience in NYC area and has played soccer since kindergarten. Thanks - Bryan

There are so many options in NTX, especially in your area.

With only a couple months left in the spring season, there is no rush to sign anywhere right away. You can use the time to learn a bit about the landscape & check out some practices. Guest play with a few teams in tournaments in May and June to help find a coach & team setting you and she both like. Then sign for the new soccer year on July 1.

It's more about the coach than the name of the club on the shirt. There are good ones at the big majors, and the smaller independents. Feel free to PM if you'd like...

Welcome and hope the move went well. Plano is a great hub for soccer with a lot of great choices. This is a great time of year as Deuce said, guest playing opportunities will abound as league play wraps up and we get into tournament season. The soccer calendar is in the mid part of the spring season right now and then open (when all players are released from their contracts) season begins now in May/June with signing (committing) to a team for a year happens on July 1. Visit websites, email coaches and directors and join into practices and talk with parents. In that area you have Solar SC, Texans, Liverpool, FC Dallas and a host of small independent clubs. Lots of great clubs. Is really about finding the right coach and parent mix to make the transition go smoothly. Will be many teams looking for players after spring season ends but opportunities to guest play during season now. Feel free to reach out with any more questions.

I'd say visit any coach who actually gets recommended to you. Each age group is lucky to have 5 or 6 that would meet that criteria. You'll find it's a totally different world down here, and not always in a good way.
