North Texas State Cup started today for the 04s and holy smokes 6 teams are playing what the heck has happened to State Cup?

Couple quick observations from Day one...  what is more of a surprise?

An 05 DTS  team beats an 04 DTS team.  What gives?

Looks like DTS 04 has to win vs FCD Blue to advance otherwise the 05s and FCD move on

In bracket B. It looks like Rush and Solar move on assuming rush takes care of business

Suspect final will be DTS 05 vs Dallas rush, with rush winning and advancing to regionals.

I will be careful what I say but DTS05 truly didn't have to do anything to win that game..

Zizou saying basically w how things are set up w ECNL and now we got another layer of DA coming that the system is broke and players are not getting developed...the downward trend of NTX soccer continues.

Posted NTX score shows DTS05 2-0 vs DTS04.  Obviously someone did something for score to be posted as 2-0 goals.  Did DTS04 score on themselves those 2 goals then if DTS05 truly didn't have to do anything?

I agree, not many 04 teams out there can put 2 on DTS04 unless DTS05 came to play and 04s didn't.  Didn't see the game so I can not tell.

Dallas Rush gets knocked out by DTS04 2-0 with five starters not being there

State Cup is very weak this year in 04.

Since JDL teams were all playing patty cake they couldn't join in the tournament.

Maybe JDL gets dissolved and real stakes and games get played next year.

Right about one thing kegs - It is weak this year in the 04 group ...

and it will be from now on for U13s and up.  Unfortunately for State Cup, it is now in the same boat as LHGCL

Borderline adorable considering your club affiliation.  If PB had received an invitation to play in JDL, he would've jumped on it.  How do I know?  ... because he told me.  

I'll speak on the 04s since you posted this gold in this group - Where do you think the "real stakes and games" were played in this group last year?  Where will they be played next year ... State Cup?  LH?  I guessing the DA and ECNL (possibly reality) must've slipped your mind?

Switching gears to 05s -- Been pondering for at least the last few minutes and can't seem to come up with any decent comp for LP Elite in LH next year ... Can ya help us out there kegs?  And BTW ... best of luck trying to keep that squad together beyond next year.  Same fate as the 03s right on the horizon.  I actually feel bad for AF ... poor guy.

Personally I like the guy, but AF inherited each of the teams that he has had any success with.  He's really done a helluva job taking advantage of the years of work of others with his Elite kids.

Oh ... and please define "fine" for us.

DTS 05 is the 04 State Cup Champion. Is there trouble in paradise?

Ummm ... no.  

The biggest pool of talent (DTS 05 + 04) that is participating in this year's (officially the first year that U13 State Cup means zip and will into perpetuity) did a fantastic job placing that talent to ensure that they play each other in a meaningless final.  

Maybe a more relevant question would be how will the newly formed Texans 05 and 04 ECNL (DTS) sides fare next year.  Will the obvious intraclub animosity that has been initiated due to blind loyalty to a couple of so so coaches that just happen to be in the right place (down south) create enough division to cause a split after next year?

Gonna be fun to watch.

So I'm guessing the runners up advance to Regionals as well?  Gonna be epic playing the likes of Mississippi Rush and such.

Also guessing you're not referring to my kid's team with the "How did your team do ?", but if so ...

We beat the 04 State Champs 6-0 just 15 days ago, and have beaten the runner up 3 of the past 4 matches against.
