Probably just karma for running up the scores to ridiculous margins and trying to embarass overmatched teams in pool play (teams who, admittedly, shouldn't have been there).
Just because you CAN beat someone by 20 goals, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

But isn't that the story of North Texas soccer? Heck, only traditional thoroughbred in this game (girls soccer)was Gabe Adames... his teams did well... Maybe 06s don't have that one wizard that can take a team to the NEXT level.
Well said money and stupid parents have infected ntx soccer.

In a tourney where goal differential can put you out of pool and into bracket, you should win by as many goals as the rules allow. If those teams didn't belong there, that is on them, not on the winning team.

Most tourneys have a cap, usually 5 goals for goal diff. SuperCopa was 5 goal max.

Nope, cannot see where putting 20 goals on anyone, for any reason, is supporting good sportsmanship.brett79 wrote:tpitty wrote:timmyh wrote:yank wrote:So can anyone shed light into what happened up in Chicago? What is LOL is someone whose DD probably plays on some crappy LH team posting over 1500 times and criticizing one of the better teams in the nation. Just tell her to work harder if she wants to be on the better teams!

Re: Dallas 06 Teams Playing Super Copa in Chicago
The teams that ended up doing better than our Dallas teams in the tournament clearly saw fit to try and keep the scores against overmatched teams reasonable. I assume they, too, could have embarrassed other teams but for whatever reason instead chose not to do it. Any good coach knows of ways to keep the scoreboard within reason while still trying hard and accomplishing other goals.
Maybe it's an over competitive cultural thing here in Dallas. If you look across ALL of the age brackets, the vast majority of teams who appeared to show poor sportsmanship and tried to run the score up were from NTX.

Agree 100%. NTX produces some of the most classless individuals both on the parent and the coaching side. Quite embarrassing when the obnoxious behavior that you see on a regular basis here in DFW is repeated in another state, in this case Illinois. And when talking of the NTX teams described in this thread, the coaches mentioned are particularly repugnant. IMO the top clubs around the country (Surf, Hawks, Slammers, Crossfire, Galaxy, etc.) would not have these low qualified individuals anywhere their clubs' top teams.

I second this. Crash please specify what level of play people's DDs have to be on to post and then which teams we can and can not criticize. Also, should we cap our critical opinions at 5 or can we run up the score?
