Anyone on here know what teams will be making up the new Mid-South conf of the Super Y League in August? We are set to play in Dallas and Austin in August. Just wondering who we will be playing...Thanks!

Super Y announced the clubs. Liverpool was listed. I was wondering if anyone knows which Liverpool team will be playing in the league...

This will be our first year in this league.  I was hoping more people on here knew about it.  Looks like it has decent competition.  Super Y League or SYL is through clubs that are affiliated with the USL and PDL.  We (OFC) just recently partnered with the Oklahoma City Energy (USL Team) becoming the Oklahoma Energy Football Club (OEFC).  That is how we got into the league.  The new Mid South Division has listed these Clubs for the inaugural season: Oklahoma FC, Liverpool-Texas, FC Wichita, TSC Hurricane, Lonestar Soccer Club San Antonio, Texans SC in Austin and Texans SC in Houston.

To my knowledge, we (OEFC) are just sending our first team, my daughter's team OEFC 05 Central, to play in this league so I was trying to figure out what teams we will be facing.  It sounds like it's only 2 weekends in Aug, one in Austin and one in Dallas.  At least that is what our manager put on our Team Snap calendar.

The SYL website has announcements of all the clubs as they were invited and accepted but there is nothing in their calendar or schedule for this new Mid South Division.  Just trying to find out anything...

here is a link to when the Texans SC Austin was added: http://www.sylsoccer.com/news_article/show/779496?referrer_id=2280320

FYI I think we are tentatively slated for the Midwest All Girls Invitation in KC in Sep, the Dallas Texans Fall Festival Tournament in Nov, the Phoenix Cup in Feb, and the Dallas International Girls Cup in March

Should be a fun season...

I'll try to break this to you as gently as possible, but you are probably not going to find much interest or traction in discussing this league on this forum.  You only have 1 club from NTX (assuming that Liverpool-Texas means the NTX branch of the club), USL and PDL are acronyms that mean nothing here in NTX, and outside of the top 1 or 2 teams in the age group at OFC or TSC, the clubs/branches you mention don't register very high on the Richter scale of competition in the NTX soccer purview.

Best of luck to your DD's team, and hope you find the league serves your purpose, and that the competition is worth the travel cost. Just don't expect to find a lot of buzz about this league on this forum, because frankly, there are at least 4-5 other league options with stronger competition that NTX clubs/teams play in on a regular basis.

Bw,

Thanks for the feedback. That is what I was afraid of. At least it's only two weekends. Our state is kind of in disarray right now. Several clubs pulled out of our State association and our state isn't that big to begin with...lol. I was hoping the SYL would provide some competition but it sounds like it may not. If we can make it through the fall we should have some competition through SRPL. We also should see some quality matches in our tournaments...

Thanks again!

Neverplayed(Ok board) or OkieEnergyDad the state is not in disarray, certain clubs left to form their own association called Oklahoma Premier Clubs(OPC) under US Club, this said Energy was asked to join and chose to stay in OSA. That choice is why you feel the state of soccer in Oklahoma is in disarray.
