Re: Premier Cup hosted by Solar Soccer Club
I did see that Solar partnered with Michael Johnson Performance and is offering each team to get free fitness assessments from MJP which is a great deal. MJP is leading edge science, backed by Nike. MJP's goal is to get more people to pay for high dollar custom athletic workout regimens from them but even having the initial evaluation is valuable so that each athlete can get a baseline for where they are compared to the mean. They can see where they're weak on soccer specific attributes such as short range agility, top end speed, etc... so that they can focus their training on the areas where they can get the most bang for the buck and make more rapid improvements compared to their competition. It ain't cheap but if you're getting a free baseline evaluation that would be very valuable for the serious or passionate soccer player that wants to maximize their development.
Getting back to why it's overloaded with Solar but more importantly underloaded with teams outside of Solar I wonder if it's because unlike some of the other big clubs like FCD, Solar has very few PPL level teams. They're top heavy with DA, ECNL, TCL and LHGCL.
Still, should be a great tournament to watch as a spectator with the amazing number of top talented teams playing against each other.
