really? the '08s are what 9 yrs old or thereabout right? rankings at this age is utterly nonsense given a lot of the girls are just now figuring out there is no snack and juice box at the end of the match. Do the girls really care what the score was at the end of their match?

FYI, TXFutbal, most of these girls have been been in Academy soccer and out of the rec leagues for 3 years. The top tier players definitely know and care what the score is. Many of these teams have traveled to out of town tournaments, some of them have been to as many as five.
These are not kindergarden kids (although I believe most 5 year olds know the difference between winning and losing).

Soccer mom is right. These kids are in fourth grade now...you probably let your kid play rec until second grade or something crazy. It's make or break from here on out. Another year and the college scouts will be at the games.
