Lake Highlands - Week 3

Looks like some good matchups this weekend in DI. Should give us a measure of who will move to the top.

Texans Diaz vs LP gonna be a chess match. Both teams have high soccer IQ and seem to let things build.
The fun one to watch is gonna be Haylock vs. Selecao. Lot's of razzle/dazzle expected in this game with the speed and ball skills both these teams have.

I was surprised to see that Texans Diaz and Texans Vidal ended in a tie. I expected Texans Diaz to win last weekend. Hmmm.

I agree that Solar Haylock vs. Kicks Selecao should be a good match. Kicks Seleacao has a rough beginning schedule with LP Elite, Fever, and Haylock as their first three games. Haylock better be ready because I don't believe that Selecao wants to drop the first three games of DI.

Selecao will live and die with whether ECNL players are contributing.

Selecao was when I was following them an interesting team. Most have been together since academy and I don't think they ever did switch to age pure. I could be wrong but I think JM still has a ton of '06s on that squad. If this is still the case (I don't know the make up of his roster this year) you gotta give the respect to those young ladies. At this age there could be 6-8 inches of height differential and anywhere from 20-60 lbs in weight differential between the oldest of '05s and the youngest of '06s. I know when my oldest DD was at the age of change, it was an interesting year for her. At the beginning of the season, my DD was one of the smallest on the team and by State Cup she was one of the tallest.

Kicks JM plays Fever on Tuesday evening. Should be a good match. Both play possession ball however Fever will have the size advantage.

Solar will have the advantage over Selecao... prediction of 3-1. Solid match on the week.

I reserve judgement until someone confirms ECNL will/will not be a part of this game.

Looks like their ECNL team has a game at 9:00am - Cox fields. It looks like 50/50 whether they CPP some players to play LHGCL.

DT West Diaz and LP was a really tight and good level match on both sides.  DT West put in a gorgeous goal top shelf from a through ball.  Not sure how other teams are going to match these two teams technically and tactically.  Both teams played very smart.  No doubt these are the two best teams and coaches in the age groups (IMHO!).

There is no doubt, that the game you were watching, that your daughter played in, was between the two best teams and had the best coaches. No doubt!

Agree 100 percent. Unfortunately, my daughter does not play for either. We were watching our friends DD play over on field 5 but got caught watching that game instead. I wish my DD played for either of these two teams but neither is within our driving range and makes it hard when I have to bus 3 girls around.

I am not a parent of LEP or DTW, but I was waiting for another game to start and watched the end of this game. Both teams were really good, but I think that DTWest controlled the game (or at least the end of the game). That goal scored by that fast little forward on the Texans team on a through ball was textbook soccer.

Who would have thought the 2 kicks teams would be a combined 0-6 with with only 1 goal so far.

Everyone that knew those kids were going to ECNL or DA.

I wasn't under the impression they were the exact same as last year. Just expected a heavier 'contribution' from those players who have moved on to greener pastures. I expect this happens at some point.

Will they go from losing and only scoring 1 goal to Scoring 6 Goals tonight?

Long history of player sharing between teams. Why would ECNL change player pooling? Perfectly legal to dual roster.

Because in some people’s eyes, why would anyone bother with the losers who are still playing in LH. It’s beneath them.

Does anyone have anything worth while to say?
