No backpedal 1st time poster!! I meant what I said you have to win the big tournament to carry the torch...this is a fact. Others before you have done it...it is the greens fee. If this bothers you, then that explains a lot....

I really don’t.  In fact, the type of people that immediately jump on a message board to bash a group of 10yo girls the second they experience diversity is exactly the type of people that i’d rather keep my daughter away from.

Diversity??  OH, you are one of 'those' people.... affraid

"I want to thank Split That and Adidas26 for the kind words. I can tell you that the SoCal teams, especially The Eagles, better be ready to bring their "A" Game as the Top Solar 07G team is coming to town and redemption is on their mind. For the record, the team that played in Surf Cup in August was actually the clubs "C" Team and recently joined Solar from an independent club. I would not consider them Solar as they do not compare to Solar 07G Colvin. To be fair, not too many teams in fact can be or should be compared to them.

You will see in a few weeks how the top Solar 07G team brings the Thunder to SoCal! I can attest to the statement that this team is truly the best in the nation and they take soccer to a new level. Their technical skills and determination is top notch.

Visit our Facebook page for a preview of what you should expect from these future USGNT / USWNT players. To be honest, I foresee the USGNT coaches contacting Solar about having these girls represent the US when they reach U14. If the SoCal coaches are lucky, maybe a few of their players may get the nod to join them.

...to prove my point about representing NTX and why I do hope an 07 team wins a big tournament. Here are some posts from So Cal forum:

“Final 6-0. Blues is an excellent team and would have won today hands down without the “borrowed one”.
North Texas still has a long way to go before they can compete with the brass that So Cal has to offer.

“The finals will be just another league game for both these teams... also for the last 5 years have been hearing how great Texas is but they never show up at Surf Cup for some reason....it's like the fast race horse from out of the county and when they step on US soil lose their mojo“

....after reading these comments from the So Cal forum you still don’t get my point, then that proves a lot about you!

Skeets for the last 5 years when the current 07’s were 5 years old??? That is laughable. Sounds like the Socal folks don’t respect the previously referenced “torch bearers” of north Texas elite soccer either. These kids are still working on 1st touch, awareness, how to deal with teams that big kick the ball, and individual development. If the team happens to have a collection of girls who have for the most part figured it out a bit earlier than the other girls and happen to be on the same team then awesome. There is not one scout out at the games, just parental opinion on a message board. Your talking about 9v9 soccer GTFOH.

Facebook page and your go fund me account? Hahah You guys are crazy!

These kids are still working on their 1st touch? Nah they are doing back passes like Ronaldo and just dominating folks! Hahaha

Take Playerpass666 (Solar Satan) advice. Win a couple of championships then you can talk. Until then get your little butts back in the nursery where you belong.

Hope that coach can keep you crazy’s together. Most of us know what the outcome will be.

Entertaining for sure!

Obviously there is fodder for hilarity with some of the stuff posted by what appears to be SRSA parents or family members. (I can only hope some of it was tongue in cheek). But there are also some really great and humble kids and parents on that team, and the coach is a class act. Regardless of what your personal opinion may be about the team, the club, etc., the fact remains that when a team from North Texas steps onto the national stage in a tournament like that, we should all be rooting for them because if they do well, it shines a light on NTX soccer.

Now having them bash JK's team and smack talk other elite teams in the nation is pretty embarrassing. So in the same way that the rest of us need to remember that they represent all of us when they play nationally, it seems they need to remember that as well and to be cautious not to give North Texas a bad name by behaving like clowns online. (Again, it is likely confined to just one or two families, but still. One bad apple unfortunately spoils the reputation of the barrel.)

The Go Fund Me page is embarrassing on its own and $235 won't get you far. I would recommend taking the Go Fund Me page down ASAP, especially with the kids' photo prominently positioned. I've never been able to understand parents who think it's ok to ask all their friends to fund their child's activities. Asking family for help, ok, but keep it private and don't set up a campaign as if funding these kids' soccer trips are somehow going to benefit society.
