Thanks Gunners! We are hanging in there! Thanks for the link. That is interesting...streaming "all" their games. I thought over-the-top things calmed down by U-14. LOL.

I need to get my post count up! I tried to get some carryover credit from the old site, but the moderator wouldn't go for it. LOL

Great job by Sting. That is a way to show them what North Texas can do. SI, now you know everyone will be gunning to beat the national champions when you return.

The moderator had a little difficulty getting the "old site" folks to comply. Heck, they couldn't even maintain their threads/posters/post count on their own site. Not to mention, I ran into a conflict...it seems "Northwatcher" and "Defense" posts were coming from the same IP. Hmmmm. I just couldn't figure out a fair way to give credit!

Good to hear from you NW...do you miss the insanity?

Looks like Sting & Michigan Hawks are almost finished and it's still 0-0. Sting probably resting some since they are already in the Finals.

Welcome back to the craziness. I'm glad your dd has come back to the select soccer world and my dd is excited about the two of them playing at Liberty next year.

Sting loses 1-0, but will play MVLA in Final at 5:30 pm Saturday.

Nothing exciting to report. We rested many of our starters, particularly defenders, and mixed up positions for the other players across the board. Relatively even game with a corner scored in the last minute. Not much emotion on the field or on the sideline. Think the Hawks felt good salvaging a game. Think we will see more emotion come tomorrow night......ya think? Should be fun.

Quick question ... why are there only 4
teams in the 96 girls group, but 6 in all the others?

Its been fun checking in here on your progress... very exciting for all
girls involved for sure.. keep it going !

In all of the older age groups there are 2 additional teams because they also include the winner and runner-up of National League. However, National League doesn't start until u15.

Socrocks-Thanks and good to see you on here. I didn't miss the time commitment or $$ spent, but I did miss seeing many of the faces.

TWH-Thanks for the welcome and my dd is absolutely looking forward to high school games playing on the same team with your dd. Middle school soccer was fun, but the next four years will hopefully be a special time for them. I'm just glad I don't have to go to anymore volleyball matches. My dd liked it, but I couldn't take it. lol

That is unfortunate to lose on pk's, but what a great accomplishment by those girls. They should be very proud of how far they made it! Congrats on a great showing!

That stinks having to go to PKs (losing 5-3) in a National Title game. I bet the weather delay and playing at night benefited the Cali team more. They didn't have to play in late afternoon heat and humidity like Sting has been playing in since Spring & Regionals (Baton Rouge, LA). Too bad they can't go best 2 out of 3. Also, they showed the Sting 96 girls warming up for the game during the live pre-game show for the U19 Boys Championship game on Fox Soccer Channel. Pretty wild.
