Showcase Tournaments

Which ones are the best? In your opinion, how many showcases should a team be entered in per year? I am asking because my daughter is a sophomore playing up a year, and it doesn't seem to be urgent for her team to play in anything other than a local one with D3 and NAIA coaches attending. Technically, the coaches can't talk to her yet, but I wanted to get a head start on narrowing her focus. Her high school coach actually got college coaches to show up to a game...old school, right there!

Assuming your DD is not DA or ECNL, the following showcases are all generally well attended by Texas and Texas border state schools from smaller D1 down through D3, NAIA, & JuCo.

Lonestar Showcase (Round Rock) - Feb 10-11
FC Dallas Showcase - March 2-4
DIGC - March 28-April 1
Texas Cup - Thanksgiving Weekend

There are a couple in Houston as well that I am not as familiar with that I think can be put into this group. Others may be able to fill in the blanks there.

Unless your DD is specifically wanting to attend college outside of Texas and it's immediate border states, I would recommend that you save your money and time, and not travel to any showcases outside of Texas.

If you want coaches to show up to your games at any of these tournaments, your DD and her teammates need to be working the phones and email of the college coaches.  Coaches will prioritize going to games where they will see girls who have they have seen at one of their on-campus camps, or who have contacted them to express direct interest in their school.

Thanks for the tourney info. I was also told that ID Camps where the schools your DD wants to attend would be more beneficial than showcases. Thoughts?
