FC Dallas Hoses Girls Teams in Adidas College Showcase

Not because they again send all girls teams to Moneygram, while sending the boys teams to TSC.

Not because there were so many teams at Moneygram and insufficient parking that parents missed parts of games while spending 45 minutes+ looking for a parking spot.

But why the heck, especially in a COLLEGE SHOWCASE, does FC Dallas have some girls U15 teams playing 9v9 on smaller than regulation fields?

Did the TD not know the size of the fields when he put games on them?  Did FC Dallas just sign up more teams than available regulation fields (it's all about the $$$)?  Did they give those teams playing on 9v9 fields a discount?  

Any boys teams required to play on smaller than regulation fields?

FC Dallas bill this as an elite college showcase tournament?

They only charged $5 for those phantom parking spots though.

All of our games were on regulation fields. Parking was tight but always found but paying ten bucks for that setup is a joke. No concession just some icee truck.

All in all, I'd say our experience was only fair. Paying for parking does suck, but every FCD tournament we've been to has charged for parking. Just one of the ways they make $ to fund the boys side. We saw only a few college coaches at 1 game, barely any at the rest. U15 is a little young in my opinion for most to be seriously considering a college coach/team, unless your dad happens to be a wealthy restaurateur with lots of connections in the soccer world.

Ouch -- Sounds like some had a rough go of it this weekend.  

Definitely not cool if they stuck U15s on a 9v9 field.  I was out there for 2 matches -- Didn't see any 03s playing 9v9 and didn't have any trouble with parking, but you know me ... A glass half full type of guy and always seem to get lucky.

And I've mentioned this before, but it may just be too hard to believe -- FC Dallas Youth aren't the ones out there collecting $ at Moneygram ... City of Dallas.

It's just like the toll road paying double highway robbery. We get taxed and then pay a toll. Government waste to pay for their vacations to the Bahamas.

Well, BigEgo, you weren't too observant if you were out there on Saturday.

Games were being played on Field #19 for almost the entire day on Saturday.

I'm sure the teams playing on 9v9 fields and paying $400 per game thought they had a fantastic value and opportunity for a "college showcase".

And SoSy -- I used the back entrance and spent most of my time with the lowly US Soccer folk over on 5 and 8 so didn't see what was going on over at 19.  In all seriousness, I am sorry to hear this ... That is bullsh.

Why weren't the girls allowed to play at Toyota? Were the tournament fees the same for the girls and the boys? Why weren't the girls given an equal venue to play at? There is a huge discrepancy between MoneyGram and Toyota. Girls like concession stands, nice parking, and not smelling garbage too ya know.

AND.. Who collects the parking lot tax at Toyota? Wait.. Did the boys even have to pay for parking or did they have concierge service?

Last I checked, Frisco is out of City of Dallas jurisdiction.

Agreed Futbal that outside of the fields themselves, MG is no TSC.  I'm sure the fees were the same, and my guess as to why the girls were sent to MG is that they are viewed as secondary (for lack of a better term) to the boys.  City of Frisco collects at TSC.  Neither Hunt Sports Group, nor FC Dallas Youth own TSC or MG and (unfortunately) those that do reserve the right to collect for parking whenever they like.

Scott.. If you are out there, please provide insight as to why we don't have equal playing field opportunity between the boys and the girls. You may very well have a good reason, but from the outside looking in it appears FCD cares little for girls soccer. As I have indicated many times, FCD is making poor business decisions by treating the girls as second best to the boys.

The girls are passionate about soccer, are huge supporters of soccer, spend their time and money attending FCD games/events at Toyota. There is a huge amount of money you could be giving up if the girls soccer community decides to boycott FCD and take their money and their talent to other clubs.

By your actions you appear not to care. I hope this isn't the case because having MLS in NTX is awesome. The decisions being made can potentially negatively affect your cause, your business, and the growth of soccer in NTX.

Insight into actions would be appreciated so we can figure out how to equalize opportunities moving forward

Well.. If we get no response maybe NTX girls soccer can boycott attending any FC sponsored tournaments/FC games/events at TSC until we do get a response. We can take our money elsewhere. There are other tournaments that we can play, goto a RoughRider/Ranger game, or even goto Pinstack for entertainment.
