Here I had just pointed out that the all so heavily anticipated matchup of two teams near the top of the table in ECNL and GDA were set to battle in the first match U14 at GIGC.

I woulda thought that the 'Trumpian' language and the question at the end would indicate sarcasm ... no?

Let’s focus on 04 group. And for conversation sake.

When DA plays ECNL on Tuesday night. Whose rules are they following. Aka. No reentry in 2nd half or reentry?

Anyone heard the playoff bracket format for 04s. With DA unable to play multiple games in a day how will they treat that?

Or....BigE could have been engaging those that dislike him so much by opening up the floor to some stimulating conversation in an attempt to “smooth” things out, bury hatchets. I was off the mark with that assumption...possibly?

Apparently according to my ads on this page there is a big Texas beer fest March 30-31st. That should make the sidelines even more fun for DIGC!

Haven’t seen playoff format for any age. I am sure “they” are waiting to see what suits their teams more before slotting the playoff brackets.

I’m sure it will entail 2 of the better teams playing early in playoffs while Texans have a cake walk to final.

Judging by the 04 DA and ECNL records it’ll be difficult to create a “cake walk.”

Not 100% on the substitution rules for all, but do know that the GDA teams themselves will have to abide by their own rules. GDA teams cannot play two full time matches on the same day or on 3 consecutive days, so they'll play Tue, Wed, Fri. If they make semis, I've heard it'll be a shortened match on Saturday, and if they make finals, it'll be a full time match on Sunday.

I'm definitely in on Beerfest ... What better way to celebrate the Lord is risen?!

I believe all quarters and semis will be slightly shortened. However even the finals are shortened for the 05’s. Can’t speak for the other age groups. Didn’t look.

DA teams were placed in Flight A and B. The winners of those flights get an automatic pass to the semi-finals, while the winners of Flights C, D, and E must play a quarterfinal game Saturday morning, with the winners advancing to face the rested winners from Flights A and B Saturday afternoon.

It’s a tournament. These rules are a tad obtrusive but at least they know who has the ability to play twice in one day and who does not.

It was clearly solved in favor of the DA teams.  If another team advances from these brackets, kudos to them for beating the DA team, but skipping the quarterfinals was luck of the circumstance of being in one of those flights. Whether the DA team moves on or not, the solution is one created specifically for the DA teams, to the disadvantage of teams winning other flights.

Then, after getting a free pass to skip the quarterfinals, the winners of these brackets will each play a team that played likely a tough quarterfinal game earlier in the day.

Were these special privileges spelled out in the rules prior to registration?  Were other (international) teams told that the Darling American teams will be granted a free pass through to the semi-finals if they win their flights?

Yes, BigEgo, I know DA has some silly rule that prohibits 2 games in a day - apparently they are not able to play by the same rules as everyone else.

Garsh, there are many days in a week BigE - could have played the QF on Sat, SF on Sun, and Finals on Monday, but I know you probably couldn't wrap your noggin around that idea silly boy.

I would like to see the ACC set a rule prohibiting their basketball teams from playing on less than 2 days rest.  Come NCAA Tournament time, if an ACC team wins their round of 64 game, they get a free pass to the Sweet 16.  A Sweet 16 win means they punch their ticket to the Final 4.

And yes, it is a crock of shit that any team coming out of those flights avoids a quarterfinal game that winners of other flights must play.

DD played in two dallas international finals back in the day. 30 min halve quarterfinal were a joke. First to score set back and defend usually got it done. Games were over in a flash. I see that with teams not able to play in quarterfinals moving towards bracket winners advancing, semi-finals , finals makes more sense. These games physically can take its toll on young players one game a day allows for proper rest making for better play.

Dallas international cup have been notorious for changing matchups during the tournament that promotes the home club teams. Nothing new here with rule changes to keeep the tournament pulling the top teams.

Wait what the heck. Bracket A and B advance to semis. That is a sweet deal. Sign my team up.

Solar DA vs FCD ECNL

Not sure if the DA teams are limited to 1 game per day due to the limited subbing rules causing excessive exhaustion for the girls, or the need for extra time to review game tape and receive their daily mental evaluation.

ECNL tournaments and showcases are scheduled with only one match in a day. I believe they are just trying to protect players from some of these ridiculous tournaments schedules.
