Sting spiting themselves?

Word on the street is Sting is collapsing and combining 08G teams...without coach or parent input. And the combined teams are being led by someone who thinks they are “The Fixer”.... ????

All clubs are going through transition this time of year. I am confident Sting will do the right thing for their players. In regards to collapsing, their ECNL program is extremely strong and sending multiple teams to Nationals this year. Highly doubtful that Sting is collapsing.

To clarify, meant collapsing and combining 08G teams, not that the entire club is collapsing.

I have an 08 and her team is not combining with any other team.

Nope, I know for a fact.

Could be a good thing for some teams though. Plus, they're not under contract and every one is free to leave if they're unhappy.

The 07's tried that and 2 good teams went in the wind.

Let’s get this cleared up. Angel took Lisa’s 08 b team, and is combining with another 08 team that despite their efforts struggled to get players. Spoke to Angel about this. So there you have it.

It's sad. These poor girls are SO young to deal with this. The promises and the lies and the BS... it's absolutely ridiculous. They are NINE year olds! I get that the organizations can make changes, but they seem to forget who they are affecting... little girls. Yes, anyone can move teams/clubs at this point... but how does that wear on a kid? What are we teaching our kids? Everything is dispensable? If you don't like something, don't worry, Mom and Dad will just change your team? Or the club will change your team? I know... soapbox. But with Refs not handing out yellow cards and clubs re-organizing every spring, what's the message to our kids? Gah!

Sounds like they put two teams that were struggling together so they could all have one team.Sting was looking after the best interest of 9 year olds.

The old fashioned concept of a 'Team or fixed roster across time' in club soccer went by the wayside at certain levels in certain clubs long ago. If that is what you are looking for in Academy or Select soccer then you need to be an informed customer and choose wisely.

It has been supplanted by the concepts of open rosters, pool players, club pass players, etc.

Team only exists in the notion of a slot in a league where the club can put a group of girls to play today's game.

It is up to the club/coach to determine how they want to go about determining who is on the team on any given day and what roster consistency they may choose to maintain.

This is high comedy.

Comedy is all the advertisements for players needed on a so called team now that's real comedy. Tomorrow the team is yesterday's news.

Teams still exist at the right clubs. Do your homework.. Brand doesn't matter until u14/u15. Find a coach that is interested in developing kids and teaching them how to play soccer. Invest in the coach and it will pay dividends when it matters most.

If your on Angels team then you should have seen the new players tonight. I know some of them did not care to go to practice. But If sting was truly worried about thier players they wouldn’t give another team to someone with 4-7 teams (verdict is still out on the true number). Sting would have built a team with a coach looking for another team. Instead they blamed the coach trying to make the team work and ripped a team away from a coach for the second time in 6 months. Gave two groups to someone on staff. To me sounds like sting is only concerned about thier bottom dollar and don’t care who they step on to get it.

There is likely more to the story behind the scenes. And get ready, if this is your first time on the merry go round. This is the time of year for coach movement too, especially at the big 5.

Is this counting the Sting North Makanani group he pulled the okey-doke with? A week after signing email was sent to say "surprise these 6 girls won't be playing with this team but you can have these 6 girls from AC and he assigned himself as coach" Team went win-less in LH D3 while the AC and Sting just sat back and watched that team collapse...HA what a joke with that guy...
