Oh and every forms an opinion about FCD because most everyone spends a year there before moving on.
And please show me a girls practice on a full field. In my year there I never saw any team, especially girls get anything more than half a field and that was the ECNL team
Hey there DB --
If you think a youth soccer team training on a full field should be the norm, you may wanna cease posting on here ... That or change your profile pic to a shot of Burt Reynolds in North Dallas Forty.
Burt Reynolds was in North Dallas Forty? How did I miss that ?

TxFutbal wrote:Wouldn't that be a benefit @ FCD? Come play here cuz all the soccer balls are the same so there is no need to chase after your unique ball. Just pick up any ball and go home after practice.
All our practices and teaching are the same as well so there is no need to use your brain. We will give you a 1 page playbook.. receive the ball, sprint to the corner, cross to the big/athletic/fast girl in the middle to score. Defenders.. just kick the ball as hard as you can to the forwards and bypass the mid field because we don't allow our players to be creative and dribble.
Just be fast, athletic, and built like a brick house and you can play for our top DA team.
Winner. Seriously most accurate post of the year

Re: The Perks of FC Dallas Youth System
To answer the original posters question....from someone who likes FC Dallas and has been apart of the club for 10 years.
Perks include:
* College Coach Combine in summer (actually going on now) in included in fees. Winter College Coach combine is reduced price for FC Dallas players, but not free like the summer combine is.
* You get discounted (50%) MLS game tickets. Occasionally games will be free to FC Dallas Youth, but not like before when all were free. Season tickets are 50% off for FC Dallas Youth players (I know because we are season ticket holders).
* The facilities are the nicest (fields, restrooms, etc.). Yes, you have to share fields - the older you are the fewer teams you have to share space with typically.
And there are definitely large club advantages over smaller clubs. Moreso when you are in HS wanting college coaches to watch your DD.
All of this said -I believe your decision should be based on the coach. The coach is the person around your DD in a position of leadership. Their communication style. Their character. Their teaching ability and style of play. Most FC Dallas teams are heavy possession teams...though there are some posters here who seem to have different experiences. Just makes the case further - decision should be based on coach...not club.
If you like the coach and believe in the coach - club is not as important.

Regardless, you gotta feel bad for the guy if he's only getting 50% off tickets -- hosed!

Re: The Perks of FC Dallas Youth System
which may explain why BigEgo gets "free tickets to matches for select+ players", db claims no free tickets, and SiG gets "discounted (50%) MLS game tickets"
again, BigEgo's experience at FCD sounds like the exception rather than the rule

Agreed. Took about a decade on the boys side before we really saw them make a difference in our World Cup qualifying success.

LOL? What are we here jackie ... 8th grade girls?
How 'bout you tell us more about all "these new leagues to dilute lh so they could get more teams in lh" that FCD started?
It's kinda outta nowhere, but holy moly are you boys ever starting to live up to your own handles ... FUN stuff!
Jokes and sarcasm always fly over your head bigego. You're too focused on pushing your silliness to think before posting.

therightpass18 wrote:Our daughter has a coach with FC Dallas very interested in adding her to his team next month - but we, like many others, swore we would never be a part of that organization.
Since we all about finding a quality, real coach, and we believe that is the case here, we have been researching the organization and their "FC Dallas Way".
So, would some of you that have been in the system, enlighten us on what the perks are for being in the system that might offset the costs.
If on a FC Dallas team, are their discounts for the camps or events and games at the facilities? Any other insider advantages?
Do you really get extra games and training with other teams throughout the year?
Thank you for any useful feedback.
