If you’re referring to me, my last point was only that (as far as games go) The top teams in Classic D1 last season are pretty much the same level as the DA teams this season. Our kids didn’t get any better by changing the patch on their jerseys. North Texas talent level is high enough that we get a lot of really good conpetition locally. Driving to play the DA team from Austin or San Antonio isn’t really any better than what we already had, just different. A 10 team Classic D1 without DA around was fine with me.

I think he was referring to the guy who thinks his kids are the coming of Messi.

Looks like another person that can't read!!! BoDoesn'tknow - how-to-read! Either! And actually, it should have said "next coming of Messi"!

The initial discussion was about what people thought if Classic was being water down or not by expansion of DA teams and Club Byes
It started when the question was asked about my kid thinking CCL D1 was the best vs DA... and some other things said - which I intended to clear up with some specific information which made others mad- but all facts.
The point was- my kids play multiple sports and don't want to play soccer 4-5 days a week - nor travel every weekend to play teams not as good as NTX. When they decide to play 1 sport, they will have options of what they like the most vs not knowing anything else.
Never said my boys were Messi or anything of the sort - only that they can play at any level- but they are only kids- so they are having fun. Let be honest - at this age if you are just above average and can commit, you can make a DA team. So what! 70% of the kids playing DA and Classic will quit by age 15 if that is the only sport they play.

If you want to make it about me- feel free. I promise, I can handle it and I can back up everything I said. I don't have to "live through my kids"- I was able to have my own successes.
I bet this, the 2-3 of you that are on here only to insult and attack, are probably thankful that you can hide behind you computers and you would never say these things to anyone's face. That's what most cowards do- call people names and attack from behind a screen.
That is so weak!

Now back to the topic for those who are not here only to make themselves feel better by resorting to 8th grade type behavior.

Double Down- I totally agree with you. At Super Copa, the NTX teams were stronger than the national average. We should be able to get challenged all we want with much travel.

I agree traveling out of town to play other teams is not the selling point of DA. Grouping together of talent, and your right more than half would be just as well served staying at D1 since that is where they will end up next year anyway. The selling point is getting to train 3-4 times per week with another dedicated group of 6-9 boys vs. only 1-3 on a classic team. In my experience, for what it’s worth.

Just let it go. It's not that deep. We get it. Get out of your feelings so that we can continue this great discussion. We actually agreed with most of your points... Good luck to your boys in the DRAFT!

Back to the original topic. Looks like the Texans are showing their lack of depth in Classic league. 3 teams with a combined 0-6 record after 2 weeks. Looks like their expected top team (Connell) has made some games interesting at least. From what I hear, their 08's are even thinner. Have heard lots of rumbling about that club and none of it has been good.

Been a tough go for ole Texans, league and tournament play. Not ire they have the draw at the younger ages that they used to.
Solar and FCD keep getting bigger (not that it’s always a good thing), but Texans is actually shrinking?
