So from what I see it doesn’t look as if the new Solar Akerson team that was the Liverpool Rush team isn’t listed in D1? Am I looking wrong? ????‍�

Well it depends on what which team you are referring to. The Liverpool Rush-Ackerson team was an '08 team. So if you are looking for them under the '07 section you will not find them. However if you are referring to his '07 team, previously Liverpool Owen, you won't find them playing Classic D1. Several players are no longer playing for him and those that stayed went to the Solar DA, from my understanding.

The Solar Ackerman 07 (formerly LP Owen) team is now part of the Solar U12 DA (East), and their coach is the assistant DA coach. That's where they are...

I think Ackerson is also coaching a Solar East Ackerson team. No idea where they are going to play, but Solar gave their open D2 bye to Solar Evans so I don’t know what that says about the Ackerson team. (Assuming there still is one) Doesn’t his brother also coach a team?

Solar East DA roster has more kids from Liverpool Owen than from the 5 Solar teams in the ID pool combined. Pretty sure there was some politics at play there.

funny how you always hear that winning and losing should not be the focus, but development should. you are saying that those kids aren't good enough because their team lost to 2 D2 teams? are you speaking about Rush and Martinez? they moved up to D1 and are probably better than more than half of D1 from last year. I have no skin in the game from Owen, but a lot of those kids were pretty good. they are 11 dude. quite frankly, if their parents are willing to spend their kids' short existence under their roof driving to practice every day and travelling to games every weekend, why should any of us care?

I'm not sure it speaks to desperation but I do think it speaks to the type of players Solar was looking for and the development Solar was able to achieve with (or should I say the type of development, or lack there, the coach of Solar East wanted to see in) the boys that were already in the Solar program.

Solar East let quite a number of DA quality boys go to other programs intentionally so it'll be interesting to see how those boys and the teams they ended up on stack up against the Solar East team comprised largely of boys from outside the Solar system.

Seems like Solar East will still have 6-7 kids on top team from Kennington, Kennington and McKinney, remainder rush and LP Owen. Anyone know if there have been any scrimmages between the teams. I assume we will have to wait until after first few weeks to see how the talent stacks up across North Texas. But we do get Texans vs Solar East opening weekend. Texans has their roster posted.

Have to agree w/ Longtimefirstime here. Not taking anything away from Owen kids...I'm sure they're quality players. This is more a knock on Solar than LP Owen. I'm guessing a few Solar parents were disappointed at the lack of loyalty from the club.

I believe that very same LP Owen team (missing 2 starters and only having 1 sub the entire tournament) beat a great DTR team and came back to beat that Solar "D2" team, going on to play in the final. Room for improvement, certainly! But lets give credit where credit is due. I believe that LP Owen team was the only team to hold off Rebels to zero goals in CCSAI. JA has done a great job with that group of boys.

I don't care much where the kids come from on a DA team roster. That part really shouldn't matter to anyone. If the boys are quality players, then they deserve that roster spot. If there are parents at Solar with some notion of "club loyalty" when it comes to rostering a Development Academy team...well, I'd just say they'd better wake up and look around. No successful DA program in the area is exclusive to the kids within their club. The Texans North group might be the lone exception, and even they have had some help with transfers. Besides, new kids coming into the program isn't a new thing, and it's the entire point of the try outs. Otherwise, the clubs already know the kids within their programs well enough, to pool their stronger players without all the hassle. Let's remember that TRYOUTS are always about the external kids... You're welcome!

I wholeheartedly agree that the best player should get the roster spot regardless of previous club affiliation. I have a hard time believing all 10 LP Owen players beat out Solar kids...the ones that had been regularly attending pool training, Iber Cup, tryouts. Didn't see most of the Owen kids until June. I don't think the Solar and Rush kids that did make the team knew the names of more than 3-4 of the Owen kids. They only knew that...hey I don't recognize that kid...must be from Owen.

Other than 2-3 players, LP boys didn’t come into the picture until June. I would argue that it was part of some agreement with JA moving the team to Solar. One team looks to be comprised of only LP boys. In terms of loyalty, there is such a thing at all levels of competitive soccer/leagues; inclusive of successful teams.

Since when did LP Owen become a DA caliber team? A few players, sure, but a TEAM?
We all remember they finished 11th in D1, right?
I mean AYSES finished 7th and tied FCD ...10 of their players must be even better!

The DA rosters will sort themselves out over the next year.

For all the DA clubs, it was about filling out 4 teams, that’s why so many of them have 08’s on the rosters... Where do we get that DA caliber kids are that much better than your BB in D1 or D2? The DA kids will get the extra touches though and we’ll see in time.

I would agree with Tone Loc, looks like many teams either brought over large number of players from one team to backfill the second team (Solar with LP and old DT South for Solars second Solar West team) or brought in 08s (FCD and Texans). I think it was a bad idea for USDA to award a new team at U12 (which is then two teams at this age group). It’s hard enough for each club to find 24 players over two teams, much less 48 players over four teams. My guess is far as solar is you will probably see 6-7 Solar kids, 3-4 LP kids and 2 Rush kids on the top team and second team a mix of mostly LP and other Solar.
