Classic Division 3

Anyone with inside knowledge know why there are 12 teams in D3 for the 05's?   Why is there a qualifying tournament for 6 teams to get in if they're just going to throw another couple of teams into the mix later that didn't qualify? Seems a little fi$hy.

That's interesting, 2 teams that didn't qualify are now in D3.  FC Dallas North Red and Solar ZuaZua.

How is this possible?

Solar was at the PPIL qualifier this weekend but FC Dallas was not.  Did they already know?

Is this CCSAI's retaliation in response to PPIL's junior league?

What happen was ....it came down to Classic league making an error. The wrong teams were given the spot when it came down to multiple teams tied with 17 pts. Instead of telling two teams that they were incorrectly given a spot and kicking them out. They added the two teams that warned the spot and kept the other two teams that didn’t.

It appears neither team relegated from D2 (Liverpool Carragher or Solar Megli) took their spots in D3.  

This meant there were 2 *new* spots open in D3.  The next two in line (based on tie breaker rules) were FCD North Red and Solar Cates.  The next two after that were Leon (now Arsenal) and Athletico Espanol.  I'm not sure how Solar Quiroz got in the mix.  They lost all 3 games in the 2nd weekend.  The original 10 teams list included Leon (Arsenal) and Solar Quiroz.  So it appears they fixed that mistake and just added the 2 rightful teams in at the last minute.  What a mess.

I can only assume they will be playing the extra 2 games in the spring and fall to make this fair for everyone.

Solar Megli gave his D3 relegated spot to Solar Quiroz.

How does fcd get a spot?

As I understand it, Solar-Quiroz took Solar-Megli’s D3 spot, which is why Solar-Quiroz is still in D3.   Solar-Megli is not in D2.   It looks like Liverpool-Carragher is still in D2 based on one of the Texans’ teams that was relegated to D2 no longer being in Classic League.  I think Texans might have turned that team (or part of it) into their ECNL team.  

Based on the foregoing, Solar-ZuaZua would have been given the next spot based on points.  Solar-ZuaZua had 17 points.  FCD North Red, Atheltico Espanol, and Leon FC (now Arsenal) had 14 points.   Thus, I am not sure why FCD North Red or Leon FC would have been given the additional spots, unless Classic League mistakenly told them otherwise as someone noted above.  

Moreover, it appears Athletics Espanol beat Leon FC in the tiebreaker.  Thus, did they turn down the spot?  Why are they not in over Leon FC?

As a caveat, I could be reading it wrong, which would not be the first time.  In any event, the more the merrier.

Solar Quiroz is seeded 1st in D3 so that correlates with them taking Megli's spot.  So there was truly one extra spot available that should have gone to Solar ZuaZua (Cates).

The next in line was FCD North Red, then Athletico, THEN Leon (Arsenal).  Can't imagine Athletico turning that spot down considering they finished 5th in D3 last year.  So did Classic tell Leon they got in by mistake when they should have told Athletico they got in?   They screwed up their own screw up.

I guess they'll get extra games this year, so all is well.  Neither FCD North Red or Leon appear good enough to finish top 4, so I guess it will work itself out anyway.
