U.S. U20 MNT clinches 2019 World Cup berth Empty U.S. U20 MNT clinches 2019 World Cup berth

The U20 MNT (1999 cycle) has qualified for next year's world cup in Poland. Although mostly comprised of 1999 birth years, there are some 2000's and a couple of 2001's.  There is some NTX representation again (all of it from FC Dallas). Congratulations to all of them, wishing them ongoing success and maybe some day we will see them with the US MNT.

GOALKEEPERS (2): 1-Brady Scott (FC Koln; Petaluma, Calif.), 12-CJ Dos Santos (S.L Benfica; Philadelphia, Pa.)

DEFENDERS (7): 2-Jaylin Lindsey (Sporting KC; Charlotte, N.C.), 3-Chris Gloster (Hannover 96; South Orange, N.J.), 4-Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union; Bear, Del.), 5-Matthew Real (Philadelphia Union; Drexel Hill, Pa.), 14-Manny Perez (N.C. State; Garner, N.C.), 16-Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy; Lompac, Calif.), 19-Samual Rogers (Seattle Sounders FC; Seattle, Wash.)

MIDFIELDERS (6): 6-Brandon Servania (FC Dallas; Birmingham, Ala.), 8-Juan Pablo Torres (K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen; Lilburn, Ga.), 8-Alex Mendez (SC Freiburg; Los Angeles, Calif.), 10-Paxton Pomykal (FC Dallas; Highland Village, Tex.), 15-Anthony Fontana (Philadelphia Union; Newark, Del.), 18-Isaac Angking (New England Revolution; Providence, R.I.)

FORWARDS (5): 9-Justin Rennicks (Indiana.; Hamilton, Mass.), 11-Ulysses Llanez (Unattached; Lynwood, Calif.), 13-Griff Dorsey (Indiana; Evergreen, Colo.), 17-Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC; Detroit, Mich.), 20-Frankie Amaya (UCLA; Santa Ana, Calif.)

Note for the 2nd phase of qualifying the following changes were made which brought in more NTX representation:

Coach Tab Ramos made three changes total: Sebastian Soto, Christopher Richards and Sergino Dest joined up with the squad, replacing Anthony Fontana, Griff Dorsey and Isaac Angking.

U.S. U20 MNT clinches 2019 World Cup berth Empty U20s beat Mexico to win Concacaf crown

Post by MajorTom 27/11/18, 12:19 am

The U20s not only qualified to the 2019 U20 WC but also outplayed Mexico in the championship game. The local representation: Paxton Pomykal, Brandon Servania and Chris Richards all had a solid final game and tournament overall.
