Did anyone catch the Angelone/Cosmos White game yesterday? The results are a bit surprising. Curious what transpired during the game.

Based on gotsoccer game history, Cosmos White would have had to run from UTD when that game finished at 11:30 and get to Veterans to warm up and play at 12:30. Doable, but is that what really happened?

Good point. It seems like there must have been several teams running to and from UTD for JCL and the PIT for tournament games.

It's soccer, so you never know how the ball rolls. Maybe White had a better than usual game while Angelone played like crap? Maybe some key Angelone players were sick, maybe it was the new Cosmos Grey team?

No I was not referring to Cosmos in any way. Observations from another organization. They still lost so all good.

I’m an Angelone parent. It was definitely Cosmos Black playing including their best players which is their defense and goalie. Cosmos had no real offensive threat the entire game. It’s cool, guest players are expected in this league. We should have still scored but it was a disappointing game for us. It happens.

Looking at the league game results, it’s clear White had a much stronger defense in this game versus their other league games. A lot of teams share players when needed so not a shocker. Thanks for the insight Proph! With Angelone’s tie, Going forward, that division will be really interesting to watch. It’ll be a close race between the top 3.

When are teams prohibited from using the same players on two different teams in the same league? Does that start next year?

Since Cosmos Black and White are in 2 different divisions, they can share as many players as they would like in this league. Somebody else can comment on how player sharing works as the girls get older. I’m no expert.

July 1st is the first time for signings for the 09 age group. Once that happens then you must have permission to guest play. You can still player pass but if a player does so then they can only be on one roster in a given day with a max of three player passes. The answer to the question is it kinda stops next year but the reason the player pass was put in place was to help teams that may have an injury or other circumstance where they require more players. Or at least, that’s how I understand it.

Why would the Black team play in place of the white team? What’s in it for each team (DC Black and DC white) and why would this be encouraged? What message does that send to the white teams kids and parents? “I’m going to let you sit this one out?”

It has been said that the Cosmos white team had a semi final tournament game that conflicted with JCL or close enough to where it was going to make playing in both games difficult. From what I understand, a few of the top Solar teams continually stack the deck in tougher games, so I am sure they didn’t mind it being reciprocated.

Oh yes I’ve heard and seen the “stacking” piece with some of Solar teams but checking got soccer looks like games were 2 hours apart, maybe an hour to get to UTD from PIT Plano (doable but not ideal), still trying to figure out what’s in it for each team if that’s what happened

I’m not sure this is really a case of stacking the team, cosmos white had potentially two games Sunday in a tourney that they had a chance to win, so it looks like they brought in some players from Cosmos Black so as not to wear out their tourney team. It makes sense for them. White has no chance to earn the bye in JGCL so why use their players up when they can instead win this tourney?

Also, I’m not sure I agree that the top teams from Solar or anywhere else “stack” their teams for harder games. From what I have seen all the top teams seem pretty consistent. A guest here or there to help with bench strength? Sure, but not to any real extreme. I’ve noticed some of the weaker teams may grab a strong player from a top team to help out but just not sure I’ve seen it much from the top teams.

Oh I’m sure the “top” teams from Solar do stack on numerous occasions, adding anywhere from 2 to 3 to 4
“Guest” players can absolutely change the outcome of a game from tight loss, to tie, to a win... I wouldn’t minimize how using “guest/club” players would impact the score line of a game, even ProphAC is owning up to that

Well, it was a soccer match and both teams had their chances to score, defend, etc. Both teams of girls fought hard and gave it their best effort. I don’t have a dd in this match, but I do believe the objective is to challenge the girls to continuously compete, face adversity and hopefully win...

I can say for fact at least two of the top Solar teams bring in other top players for more challenging games. It is not a secret. They do it against other teams in their own club. Not a practice I am a fan of, but it definitely happens.
