Coaches Replacing players

Next thing you know two talented kids are booted off and replaced with two kids that aren't showing any outstanding talent or skills that would warrant the removal of current player.

I have also heard that there are coaches that string kids along with a "maybe" or "maybe not" answer in response to a player questioning their status and if they are being cut or not. What is the purpose of that? It appears my three are fine but I have been hearing stories over the past couple of weeks that make me happy to know my kids are safe....I think!
