sounds like Solar scored on Sting Blue late in the game. Then Solar fouled in the box VERY late to give a PK attempt to Sting Blue. That shot went off a post.

Sting Blue having a near miss vs Solar, Sting and D'Feeters, plus Solar losing to FC Dallas, Texans in a draw with TFC (ok, could have been an anomaly)...

Do these results add up to simply "slump" by Solar, but the addition of a quality #5 FC Dallas, #6 Sting Blue.

note: No slam on #7 TFC (good on a given day, 2-2 Texans but a 5-0 loss to 'feet), or on FC Dallas South fka Revolution... not the point of the post!

Does DI now look more like Top 3, with a competetive middle 3 ???

TFC vs. TEXANS was actually 1-1 :-)

The top three appear to have remained largely intact at their core for years, but more importantly play a rigorous schedule with tournaments, games, and scrimmages on a 12 month basis. They have talented players for the most part but their true advantage appears to be a quantum leap in games played together and in some cases practice time as well. Talking to parents on those teams I almost get the feel of parents of competitive gymnasts... that if there was a soccer club that offered 12 month training AND educational and health resources, like the boarding school style for top gymnasts they would, to borrow from the great Direct TV ad, "jump in it"! Just like high level gymnasts the commitment level for these teams that is expected requires significant sacrifices/choices for both parents and player. Full college scholarships are a rare thing, especially at the D-1 level, and though I am sure I will hear from some on this, there is no realistic "beyond college game" professionally. I will watch to see if this model increases those odds.
The middle three have some stellar athletes on them, from what I have seen, so it will be interesting as those teams play together more whether that athleticism, coupled with game experience will narrow the gap come spring.

Sorry, yep 1-1 TFC v Texans, I had a 2-2 with TFC stuck in the brain...

It is nice to see some pushing of the top 4, not that they will be unseated, but Teams #5 #6 can make some noise...
