Re: NPL question
Now send all your players over to FC Dallas so they can win the real National Championship in the DA.

Go look at the team rankings in Us youth soccer ranking. The team was ranked #206 in the nation. Actually, the Fever team is a really good team. This is no knock on the girls. The system is broken. The fact that tourneys are not open to whoever, and you have to be part of a big club to play certain teams is not right.... But it’s also not right for these new leagues and clubs to sell these tourney’s as real competition. The big clubs still win, because they just send their 3rd or fourth team to these lesser tourneys.
To pay to travel to these fake National championships doesn’t make sense. The club, the leagues and the parents, who want to say my kid is a national champion get the benefit. Not the kids. Kids have fun and make memories at any tourney.....This is the everyone gets a trophy mentality...

DII, DIII, NAIA, etc. shouldn't be allowed to have a championship. Those kids don't work as hard and don't deserve a chance to play for something.
The difference is in education....A lot of parents don’t know the difference....I didn’t, with my first kid. I learned later. I have talked to parents, who thought, they literally are playing the best competition. Only the crazy folks like me, look at rankings...and most of the time, the D1 to NAIA talent is different... But with the independents it’s different, their kids are a lot of times as good, as the big clubs, but because of the system, they don’t get an opportunity to play the big club top teams...That’s not right... I don’t think the answer is to create all these other leagues...I think the answer is to create levels where every team has an opportunity to be number 1, like basketball.

That systems exists. It's called APL/PPL -> LHGCL -> Frontier League -> Regionals -> National Championship. ECNL/ECRL/NPL are club managed leagues to to develop and have a place for kids to play. LHGCL/Frontier League/National League are the only leagues you actually have to qualify for. When clubs started expanding beyond 1 team per age group, it became too hard to qualify for LHGCL. When LHCGL wouldn't change the rules to allow clubs more "flexibility" beyond CPP the clubs picked up their balls and created their own sand box.. It all started with ENCL and has just gotten crazy ever since. The question is did LH make a mistake by not expanding fast enough to accommodate the growing landscape for girls soccer. I think Junior Academy league is a great addition to LH but the D1/D2/D3 system needs to change. Too many kids playing soccer and not enough quality spots to play. Plus with the pool concept, it's not about a single team anymore because the clubs have sometimes 4-8 teams per age group.
QT by far is the best tournament out there because it means something more than kids posing with a trophy for a facebook photo. This being said, the kids probably could care less about LH as a league because tournaments are way more fun.. The travel, the hotels, kids getting off the parents leash, hangin out and doing stupid stuff, that's what they care about. Lots of stuff for the soccer leaders to think about before they beat each other up beyond repair. Of course it all starts with USYS vs US Club. Soccer is the only sport besides the jacked up word of boxing that seemingly have 2 governing bodies
Just my 2 cents.

These parents and their ridiculous Facebook posts.
"Our team just lost in the National Finals. We are the #2 team in the US."
Seriously? You may be fooling your gullible and ignorant "friends" but anyone who knows anything knows you aren't even close.
Does she play DA? Nope. ECNL? Nope. Any league we have actually ever heard of? Won any tournaments of note?
So a group of 3rd and 4th place teams from a variety of clubs came together to form a league, create their own playoffs of teams ranked around 200 in the country, and you go out and post that your daughter's runner-up team is "#2 in the US"?
Please. Think before you put that on Facebook, where people who actually know what you are doing will see it.
(not referring to the Fever team above, but another DFW team in another age group - just a good thread to point out the ridiculousness)

Based on last years results for North Texas teams, each group has a large variation from LHGCL Div 1, 2, 3 and a few PPL teams. Most are LHGCL Div 2 & 3 teams. So why are we playing OK, AR, KS, LA?

Yep, we've finally reached the point where there are more leagues than there are teams to fill them. 08 teams will be playing LHGCL D1 as well.
