ODP 2019 Closed for Comments Due to Same Generic Useless Info and Trolls

Okay, ODP tryouts is good experience for a young player. If she is called up to the top team then the friendlies played against other state teams are exciting and fun for the players. The big camp cost and is not geared towards development. Training sessions are weak and over time will become boring. Making the regional pool is awesome. Making the regional team is political. Oh yeah, if she is a top player and is playing for a top club their will always be a conflict. Good luck!

My recommendation is try it! Initially it is a modest investment of $325 dollars for the year. As you have alluded to in your initial post more negative has been said as opposed to positive for whatever reason. It is great way to network and meet other players, and families in NTX, Southern Region, and potentially nationally. In most other areas ODP is still considered to be a nationally elite means of ID and has true national implications. College recruiters and coaches look for this status for it is another national accolade for your player. Personally I am seeing more elite players from NTX participate and hence more making regional pools/teams. Is it fun to personally compete against other elite players and teams from other states and see how you stack up, yes. North Texas vs FL Or GA very entertaining. All in all if you have an elite player, the experience of trying out, and competing in a different atmosphere should pay great dividends later in your players path.

Tryout Fee - $150
Pool Fee - $360
Uniform - $100 ish
Subregional fee -$90 (times 2) and not including travel (yours or coaches)

For that you can find much better training. But I do agree that the tryout experience is valuable.

Soccer is great business here in Dallas with lots of money to go around. Look at U90, went from nothing to over 1MM in revenue over 6 years.

What is the total annual revenue estimation for the sport of soccer in the metroplex. A guess.

Guessing 30 million conservatively in DFW alone.

That's a real conservative value. If you consider the macroeconomics just in DFW I would project at least 100 million is real asset revenue when you consider the amount of growth and the sport economies of scale itself just locally.

What are real asset revenues and sports economies of scale?
