96 D1 Games this weekend
96 D1 Games this weekend
This weekend on Saturday, Texans play Feet and Solar Red plays Sting.
One Sunday, Texans play Solar Red and Sting plays Feet.
It will be very interesting to see how everything looks Sunday night after the dust settles.
I am sure Lonestar and Albion will be watching the scores also as they are 1 and 2 in points. I am sure they want us to knock each other out of any contention to catch them.

NTX has so few games played, it's hard to tell who to root for and against.96Guru wrote:Man its been quiet in the 96 group. There are some good games this week that could end up being key for Premier League. Most of the STX teams only have 2 games left in PL while the NTX teams have 7 games left.

Hopefully it will become a little clearer after this weekend. Taking turns beating each other would be fine though.

Re: 96 D1 Games this weekend
LONESTARS 96G RED 9 6 3 0 29 3 21
ALBION HURRICANES FC 9 6 3 0 20 4 21
D'FEETERS 96 4 4 0 0 18 1 12
NORTH OKC OFC 96 7 3 3 1 15 6 12
LONESTARS 96G RED NORTH 9 3 2 4 7 17 11
SOLAR RED 4 3 1 0 12 2 10
STING 96G 4 1 3 0 15 4 6
DALLAS TEXANS 4 1 2 1 9 3 5
CLASSICS ELITE 8 1 1 6 9 31 4
HURRICANE FC RHEIN 6 0 2 4 3 16 2
NYSA FURY 96 5 0 0 5 1 14 0
HURRICANE FC BEATTIE 7 0 0 7 1 38 0
Still a lot of possibilities (mathematically) with max points for most of the top 8 teams falling into the 24-27 range (Feet 33, Solar Red 31). The 4 Dallas teams go at it with very critical double-headers this weekend. Should be some great games and the contenders may get thinned out a bit. It looks to me that 25 pts gives you a legit shot at winning PL.
Lonestars 21 pts, remaining: Solar Red, Feet - max pts 27
Certainly in a good spot…currently leading the pack. Without looking at rules, I assume they have tiebreaker over Albion. Final games on Halloween weekend.
Albion 21 pts, remaining: Solar Red, Feet – max pts 27
Awesome season, big win over OFC and ties with Sting, Texans, Lonestars. I have to be honest, I didn’t consider them a title contender going into the season. Halloween weekend will be critical for Albion & Lonestars.
Feet 12 pts, remaining: Texans, Sting, OFC, HFC Beattie, Solar Red, Lonestars, Albion – max pts 33
Has won the games they should win but a brutal schedule ahead. Both games this weekend are huge (Texans, Sting). A Feet win vs either team probably eliminates that team from contention. I’m sure the only Feet fans this weekend will be wearing green. Halloween weekend games in Austin vs Lonestars & Albion should also be very significant.
North OKC OFC (hate the name) 12 pts, remaining: HFC Rhein, NYSA Fury, Feet, Solar Red – max pts 24
Played Sting, Texans, Lonestars tough….loss to Albion hurt. Even should they win out, not sure they can secure enough pts to win PL….but a very solid season. Definitely a chance to play spoiler role in games vs Feet/SR.
Solar Red 10 pts, remaining: Texans, Sting, OFC, HFC Beattie, Feet, Lonestars, Albion – max pts 31
Same remaining schedule as Feet…tough sledding. Tie to Lonestars Red North was costly. But SR seems to be playing a little better (in LH) of late. Perhaps the slow start is behind them. Lots of pts still on the table….this weekend will determine a lot.
Sting 6 pts, remaining: Solar Red, Feet, Lonestars Red N, Classics Elite, Texans, NYSA Fury, HFC Rhein
Injuries and tough initial schedule led to rough start (by Sting’s standards). Much easier remaining schedule than Feet, SR….but still a little meat left on the bone. Two wins this weekend (vs Feet, SR) would go a long way towards bringing Feet/SR back to the pack (in terms of max pts).
Texans 5 pts, remaining: Solar Red, Feet, Lonestars Red N, Classics Elite, Sting, NYSA Fury, HFC Rhein – max pts 26
Like Sting, tough schedule to start season. Loss to Lonestars was big. Although not giving up many goals, Texans seem to be having difficulty scoring. The remaining schedule allows for 12 reasonably attainable pts, leaving 3 key games. They really need to win 2 of 3 those (with no less than a tie in the other game) to keep any title hopes alive.

Re: 96 D1 Games this weekend
Well let's start with Feet! The Dfeeters are just a power house an offensive machine. They are the grand champions from last year I believe. Only 2 goals against them and 16 for them so far LHGCL. What more can you ask for? What a great place to be this time of year. Enjoy the ride 96 guru!96Guru wrote:Man its been quiet in the 96 group. 96Guru wrote:Good games over the weekend. Sting and Texans are the only two teams that havent played each other this season. Should give a pretty clear picture of the seedings for what will be the last State Cup for some teams.
I was giving some thought to that very subject this morning. Making a couple of assumptions, the seeds are almost decided:
1) Team mgrs were told by LH that seeding would be based on the the 1st rotation of the schedule (everyone playing everyone once)
2) our age group State Cup reps continue to subscribe to that seeding process (which they have since u11)
#1 Feet (regardless of outcome of Sting/Texans game, wins tiebreaker vs Sting with fewer GA)
#2 Sting
#3 Solar Blue
#4-#6 between Solar, FCD & Texans (pending the outcome of Sting vs Texans game on 11/6)
#7 Solar Red
#8 Revolution
Of course, the number of teams electing to enter....which determines the # of brackets is crucial to the process also.
Seems weird (and a little sad) talking about the LAST State Cup for many of us.

Socrocks do you think that a U.S.Club Soccer State Cup for younger age groups is in the cards for Texas in the next few year?socrocks wrote:96Guru wrote:Good games over the weekend. If ECNL continues to gain strength....and the junior ECNL program kicks in, who knows?

I was right at the center line. That way, nobody knows if which team I am rooting for. I also wasn't quite as active as the photographer. Hopefully I can connect with him to get his photos posted too.96Guru wrote:youthsportsdfw wrote:Just putting the finishing touches on it.
