Sting Austin 05

What a turnaround for this 05 team. They were bottom half ECNL 05 team last year. With FC Dallas , Feet, CE and Solar dropping points in 3 games so far.
Having dropped points only in one game , Sting Austin is nicely sitting on top in Texas Conference this year. They already defeated Solar, Texans , Defeeters and should take care of business against struggling StingBlack tomorrow. What is their strength. Any commentary?
Can Solar , FCD or DKSC bounce back and catch them this season.

Lonestar 05 was a top 4 club in the DA last year and had a chance for Champions League. Pick up a good chunk of that team, like Sting Austin did, and the improved results were pretty predictable.
Same thing happened in a lot of age groups and
Sting Austin isn't the same laughable bunch anymore after all the ex-DA defections.
Similar thing happened to a lesser extent in Houston, with Dash losing several players in most age groups to Challenge and Albion. Doesn't seem to have happened yet in OKC with Celtic and Energy (who held onto most of their talent).

The 05 team lost one of their top forwards and picked up 3 girls from LS. One was not a DA player. This remarkable turnaround is based on coaching (and fitness).

I can verify MLS’s statement.
There is also an 05 playing up to 04 ASting (scored winning goal against Sting Black today).
There are a couple of KEY players that didn’t move from Lonestar. The ASting 05 year-group is solid, but could get stronger next year.

They may be solid, but they have noooo depth nor any pool to draw from. The 05 ECRL team is a stinker. Better hope everyone stays healthy!

Could be. Have not seen an RL game this year. Actually haven’t even seen 05s either. My daughter used to play with several of them.

Mantra to beating Sting Austin is simple. Match their physicality. They are taught no better than body check , high kicks , grab jerseys , arms , pony tails and slow the game down on defense. Unfortunately, the fouls are not called in ECNL
San Antonio CE is a better team compared to Sting Austin. Their striker is a special player.
There are so many 05 studs and 06 stud that play up in 04s in North Texas . It won’t be long before these NTX teams will look forward to beating Sting Austin at their own game.

Why does the Sting Dallas 05 ECNL teams stink so much ?
In addition to accumulating 6 losses this weekend in Arizona.
They are sitting at 10th and 12th place in ECNL Texas Conference.
Royal : 1W, 9L 1T
Black: 3W, 8L 2T
So a total of 4 wins in 30 games this season so far. Yikes,
That’s the worst ECNL club based on performance so far
In addition to accumulating 6 losses this weekend in Arizona.
They are sitting at 10th and 12th place in ECNL Texas Conference.

Dilution and cost! Sting/KM secured an extra ecnl spot diluting the talent in DFW too much. Everyone gets a trophy these days and everyone that wants to, can be on an ECNL team. If my sources are correct, Sting is most expensive of the ECNL clubs as well. Why pay top dollar with so many other choices, that are better anyway(unless your kid can't make the others). Even the glory days of the 06 Black team is long gone. I do hear the 08s are good, for the time being, 06s were too.

Why are both Sting 05 ECNL teams at the bottom of the table? You would think Sting could put together one mediocre squad in this age group.

Both teams are technically inadequate. They play 90s style direct soccer. Game has changed. Works at ulittle and not at u14 and up. I think it’s too late to change.
