'02 Girls FBR Rankings

Hey '02 Parents.

I publish a computer based ranking for the '01 Girls called FBR (stands for FootBall Rankulator, which is the name of the commercial software package we use to compile the data).

I've had a bunch of airplane time to kill on an overseas trip, and have put together an FBR ranking database for the '02's.

If any of you are interested in seeing the FBR ranking output, please PM me and I'll send it along. If the attached poll results suggest that many of you want to see them on a regular basis, I'll start posting them on the forum.

I don't have an '02 DD, but am willing to track this for the '02's. However if there is an '02 parent out there that would want to take this on, I'll gladly hand it off. Again, PM me if interested.

Why would I do that....I'm terrible with formulas and charts. He is more than welcome to take it on....especially since he is volunteering. I think him doing this would be cool and I can't wait to see it. If I can help with stats or scores, let me know. I don't have every 02 score....I miss some of the D3 scores as they are never reported.

WOW! 85% in favor... Don't I feel like Sally Field accepting an Oscar (was that too old school?).

Anyway, now that I'm finally back on terra America, I'll get this going.

RoidRage - I'll drop you a PM letting you know what SDL scores I'm missing. All the SDL scores that I got came from culling the forum postings. I've got pretty good coverage of the SDL D1 & SDLII scores, but SDL D2 & D3 are pretty spotty. For EAL & PTSAL, all of the scores are posted (Arlington PAL as well if I decide to include them).

Once I've confirmed I've got as many available scores as possible, I'll go ahead and get a post out.

I'll still send what I've currently got to anyone who wants it via PM, with the caveat that I may not have all available data yet.

I have included the scores from the '03 teams playing up in '02 leagues in the database and they are used in the '02 ranking calculation. However, when I publish the FBR on the forum, I will remove the '03 teams from the list and will only show the '02's.

I am doing the same thing with Rowdies '02 in the '01 rankings. Their tourney and EAL games against '01 teams are included in the ranking calculation, but I do not publish them in the rankings.

I will also attempt to do the same thing with any out-of-town teams that may travel to NTX to play in tourneys. As long as they play at least 3 games against NTX teams already in the database, I will use their results as part of the ranking calculation, but will not publish those teams in the final ranking list.

If you are interested to know where your '03 team would stack up in the '02 rankings, I have no problem sending it to you via PM. For the public posting, it will be an '02 ranking only.

Thanks for your work. Are you going to do to combo ranking as well, like the '01's, where you take your formula and the board poll and combine them, or does someone else do that for the 01's? Thanks again.?

That's what the FBR SW is designed for, so it's a piece of cake for me to do. I'll leave it up to you guys how you want to do it. You can either pick a couple of specific pollsters who everyone feels is relatively unbiased and I can add them in, or like we do in the '01's, anyone who feels like it can post their top 25-30 and then one guy (OrangeBlooded) consolidates all of those polls and publishes a single average poll. That is the one I combine with FBR and another computer based ranking (Power Rankings) into the '01 BCS.

As far as that goes, I'll really leave it up to the '02 parents how you want to do it. I'll be happy to compile and publish whatever combination you decide.
