Well, the people at PT even said there are some refs that wont be back. As far as the goals for, the tie breaker on points went head to head.... they tied. then went to goals for, tied. Both had 13. then went to goals against. Liverpool gave up 6, LA 9. Liverpool moves to finals.
BUT WAIT! goals for only counts a max of SIX goals per game! Now LA has one more goal than Liverpool.. HOLY S!! A goal is a goal!!!

You can say a goal is a goal but you need to remember that rules are rules. The PT rules are posted on the website for everyone to read. Several tournaments will limit the # that they will count.

Thats almost as good as giving participation trophies for winning the tourney as Quickfoot does

holy cripes, that was some of THE.WORSE officiating EVER. There were 2 particular refs that needed to make a stop at the Vision Center on their way home. Unreal. LP was raped of so many fouls. Unbelievable.

Black Gold making the case for best '04 team, nice to see a smaller club mixing it up.

the scoring and tie breaker system is the same system used almost always used for all tournaments for all age groups. it's not stupid. it's just not designed for scoring 9 goals in a game. there is some strategy to playing the points that you all will eventually learn. 1. Never never never get shut out. it's better to lose 20-1 (point wise, not emotionally). that's what killed liverpool. 2. must always at least tie when your down or on the ropes in a real close game. 3. when your up 3-0 rest the offensive stars and secure the shutout.

I agree...the rules are not stupid. The rules are the rules. It's the coach's job to know the rules and strategize appropriately. No point in blaming the rules for not advancing. Sometimes the rules work in your favor and other times they work against you.

Sounds like it was ANOTHER tournament with all the calls going against Liverpool. I'm sure the opposing teams did not feel the same way.

Moosh, you were obviously at the games. How many Dalglish girls played on that team?

TBG has always been a strong team but we have yet to see them win a game against a top D1 team. They have potential and could do well next season, but it would be a stretch at this time to say they are a top team. I think Beardsley can also do well.

TBG would struggle against Dalglish, Kennington and DTNorth, IMO, so there is no way they could be classed as a top 04 team but good luck to them in the future.

I heard one Dalglish 05 and one other Dalglish player helped the team out at last minute but the Lpool team was mostly made up of Keegan D3 players?

Lpool and aztecs scored the same amount but L'pool conceded less and had one shut out! Aztecs lost to TBG by more goals than Lpool.

Look, these tournament rules are fairly standard. Sorry to say, but some LP parents sound like they are making excuses(again), refs, point system, about where they SHOULD be (finals).

Look, EVERYONE KNOWS that when you TIE or LOSE you take the results out of your hands and put it at the mercy of the other teams playing.

Congrats to Lady Aztecs for finishing first. They are a good team and played up in 03 last season in Primetime. I would put them around number 6-7 in rankings of 04s with Texas Black Gold right behind them.

I have to say that these rules are ridiculous, soccer is soccer and places like this should be decided on pure goal difference.

Congrats to Lady Aztecs, from what I've seen they move the ball around well and are potentially a D1 team with a great future. The coach seems like a good guy, too!

It's not like they made the tounament rules after the fact.

Looked like all the teams were pretty evenly matched and it was good competition, more important than the wins and losses at age 7.

i thought the Aztecs looked good. they had great ball movement. i was kinda shocked when they lost to BG in the third game

Aztecs won. The rules are the rules. However Lpool was told they were in second by the PT staff. Then later recieved an email that they were in third. That is what everyone was upset about. Aztecs were second, and played in the Champ game.
