Liverpool 04 Barnes is registered. This is a new Keller based team of 04s and 05s. The girls are really looking forward to it!

After 10 minutes of extra overtime Beardsley wins in PKs 2-1. Very good game both teams.

LP Barnes also with a nice showing for a new team. Previous post says they also have some 05's. Will be interesting to see in the upcoming months, which LP 04 team will be the second best behind Dalglish.

TX spirit 05 also impresses in this tournament with some good wins and a championship. They may be the frontrunner for the top 05 team.

Thanks for the kind words, 2good4u! Our LP Barnes girls got off to a tough start as they were a bit wide eyed with the big field and nets (it was their first outdoor game as a team) but they settled in and competed hard the rest of the way drawing once and winning another. We ended up 1-1-1 and missed the finals based on goal differential.

To be fair, I do think both LP Beardsley and LP Keegan were missing regular players so it's probably not a true representation of their ability. All said, we're very excited to be part of the Liverpool family and had a blast playing in our first tourney. Now we just need real LP kits to look legit!

We are still looking for a few more 04 girls in the Keller/Southlake area. We practice on Mon and Wed at Blue Sky Keller. Please PM me if you're interested in learning more.

Man, that championship game between Keegan and Beardsley was a nailbiter to the end. What a great game both sides put on. Very exciting soccer playing!

I'm pretty sure the girls you saw play for Keegan was their true team except one.

As far as I know Keegan was pretty much there. Beardsley was missing 3 key players, not to take anything from Keegan they played an awesome game! Great future for both teams.

Hats off to LFCA Barnes, played tough clean soccer, some real nice talent on that team, going to be a real tough team in the future


Like I said in another post. Summer tourneys are great fun and keep the kids in touch with the ball and the tourney experience, but like summer goes lots of kids on all teams are coming and going with summer vacations etc. Hard to tell what SDL will hold.

Congrats to Spirit for the win, but that in no way was the Hyypia team I watched in May Primetime. that looks like a mix of Hyypia/Kennedy.

Liverpool Hyypia/Kennedy have 3 05 teams, so they have a huge pool of kids, and some serious talent. This looked like a mix of all three just to make a team, and again with summertime vacations, lots of kids coming and going.

No doubt Spirit was tough team, and has talent, and may have same issue w the vacations etc.


I overheard a Spirit parent say that their daughter used to play on the Spirit 04 team. So looks like the Spirit team was a mix of 04 and 05 girls. As far as I know the Hypia team was true 05. However thats all ok since it was U7 silver division.

My assessment from the Beardsley vs Keegan final;

Keegan is a different team than last spring when they used some Beardsley players to help round out their roster since they were a.new team. They now have their own players and they have some really solid talent. I believe Beardsley has better depth and can sub without any drop off of talent. But both teams starters are about equal. Beardsley was missing one of their ex-Dalglish player and also was missing their top defender. Keegan actually could of won on a shot that got past goalie and was going to roll into the net but a Keegan player that was off side came up and kicked the ball in. If she would of just let it roll in on its own Keegan wins 3-2. The game had about 30 seconds left at that point. Very good game. Keegan was up 2-0 with about 6 minutes left in game. Beardsley girls showed lots of resolve and got in 2 quik goals to tie it up.

I believe Beardsley would win this game 8 out of 10 times if they played each other....but this just goes to show you how much Keegan has improved and added talent to compete with a team(Beardsley) that should be playing D1 next season!
