North Texas 95 College Commitments

Re: North Texas 95 College Commitments
Ya'll are a fading and distant memory. Sting, Texans
and Feet, who? No local bragging rights left: just the
grind of playing out of state games for girls who have
already been recruited by top tier programs...
We'll miss playing you and I'll send a kind thought your
way while lounging by my pool sipping a cold one or two.
It's been a fun ride.

You are still my favorite poster. I truly miss
the early Yuk and days of easy baiting, none better than you....
Good Luck in ECNL this year.

TNT wrote:I have to think that some of the ECNL around here are no better than some of the D1 and likely D2 teams, especially with the watered down Dallas ECNL area, 5 teams, come on. Look at Houston and Austin, 1 team each per age group, and Dallas 5, its easier to get 20 great players together than 100. So if these college coaches run over to only watch the ECNL, then they are missing out. At this point its just an idea sold to ECNL parents who may think that ECNL is the only magnet for college recruiters, nothing has been proven yet. W'ell know this answer in a few years.
There's a chance you're right.
What if, though, you're wrong and it significantly hampers your dd's chances of recruitment?
I think it's safe to say the odds are heavily favoring the latter. Are you willing to roll the dice?

Am I correct in thinking that all the commitments so far are verbal commitments ?
If so what happens to the five you have listed for TCU now that the coach has resigned ?

As far as TCU, I think a lot will depend on who they hire to replace him. It is important to the school in future recruiting to honor those commitments.

Re: North Texas 95 College Commitments
Why is it important to the school???
"...expect a school like TCU to honor those commitments
Why is TCU under different expectations???
Sure there are obvious personal reasons for the players...
If Dan had been winning with the players he recruited this would not be an issue!

I would think they would honor the local committments so as not to burn any bridges. For a school like TCU to have success they are going to have to have more recruiting focus and success on more local and regional players.
He has lots of out of state players. Hard to believe he was winning recruiting battles for top out of region talent.

Obvious from his record, he was not.
Why a coach, in one of the hot beds of soccer, doesn't recruit hard locally is beyond me.

You are a parent and you need to realize a few things! First thing is not to question what a coach does. Sorry Unc you got alot to learn. LOLUncle Numanga wrote:Old Timer wrote:AgGermany wrote:"It is important to the school in future recruiting to honor those commitments."
