Was it a professional foul?bigheadpena wrote:I got one better. I heard an ok coach congradulate a player for fouling a kid hard enough that the ok player got yellow carded. "Good tackle" were his exact words.

Don't feel bad. I don't have to visit my family in Louisiana because I can just watch "Swamp People" on TV and see most of them.

I have a whole new respect for Cajuns. I watched Anthony Bourdain go to a bayou and a whole Parish just about showed up for three days of eating and partying. Day one was a crawfish boil. Day two was a party to prep for the next morning's whole hog roast. Everybody there can cook and play an instrument.twomattiesmom wrote:txtransplant wrote:I cringe every time coachr posts those Hillbilly Handfishin' clips and pics. I saw that episode about 2 weeks ago. It was filmed about 30 min from where my family is from...and yes, it really is exactly like that. My husband was born and raised here in Dallas, he refuses to go the my grandmother's house anymore after they slaughtered a deer on her kitchen table when we were visiting for Thanksgiving!

Since we're on the topic of bayou food, have you ever eaten at Middendorfs in Akers? I drove past it in July and felt like I missed out but the line was out the door and I was trying to make it to Vicksburg before midnight.coachr wrote:if your family cooks pig like they did in that show I'll pay you for some of it.twomattiesmom wrote:coachr wrote:I have a whole new respect for Cajuns. Nope I haven't. Funny thing is I am not that big of a fan...guess growing up on the stuff makes it old hat once you are older. I do have to grab some boudin when I am down there.

Um, OK. Thanks. I don't like your screen name. Do you really have two Mattie's or do you have one kid named Twomattie (Tomato) ? Either way, I am confused.

Why would you think I have a kid named Mattie. Neither of my kids names are mattie.

Just kidding. Both my kids have names that can be shortened to Mattie.
