Rainy, cold day for soccer today, but all games were played.
05 division was co-ed.
Pool play resulted in the top two teams from each of the two pools advancing to the semi finals...2 boys teams and two girls teams (Attack and SWAT). Surprised to see that the Nationals FC didn't make it with losses to a boys team and to SWAT, but they were overmatched today.
Attack squeaked by SWAT 5-4, which gave them the top 05G honors, and SWAT 2d Place. Both teams lost to the boys in their subsequent games.

Congrats to all the teams and parents that lasted through the weather challenges!

Attack beat the top boys team 10-6 in pool play but ran out of gas in the last game and fell 9-8 in driving rain. The top boys team had an 05 player with amazing speed and footskills! My DD has never seen speed like that on the soccer field! Aside from the rain... it was a fun weekend.

Not sure. But Attack 05G (Liverpool girls) won the girls group... the top boys team (forgot their name but were Liverpool 06/05 boys) won the boys group. Attack beat them in pool play and lost to them in a "friendly" game after the two championship games were played. Attack and SWAT (another LP team) played a hard fought game... Attack managed to pull out a 5-4 win but it was a very good game.

Sounds like LP is starting to try to improve their status, starting with these younger teams. The ship has sailed for the older girls but seems like starting with the 04's they are putting together better and better teams (I know LW has started up an 03 team but I've yet to see them play or really hear anything about them yet).

Should be interesting to see if they are able to draw from the talent pool around the Flower Mound/Lewisville area from parents that are tired of driving all over DFW to practice.

One of the great thing about living down here, there's so many good teams and clubs.

Don't write them off.

I would still consider 02's, 01's and even 99's in the younger groups. It's just seems to me that over the past couple of years there's been a greater push to compete at the top level with the LP academy teams. Sorry if my comments didn't come across that way.
