My 95 kid has been very interested in attending Sam Houston State. As I was examining the roster of 22 kids, I noticed that three of the five kids from North Texas all played for Feet. I have advised my dd that if she wants to play for the Bearkats, it would be a wise move for her to try out for d'feeters next year!

You should really check the older teams records. Not exactly solid. No higher than 16th in any ECNL age group from U15-U17. They are in the B Bracket at U18, so I didn't include that and the U14's are 7th out of 8 teams in the Texas Conference.

Well, one of the 2 teams feet 98 beat this year was the Texans. Played them twice, 1st was almost a draw, second was a win and was decisive.

That's my understanding. As you know we've kinda opted out of ODP etc since that first year they were eligible so I just figured we were off the radar. I'm guessing that since she has made a few of the ECNL all tournament teams she may have been scouted at one of those events. Once our DOC was contacted everything else has just moved forward to where we are now. She is getting the opportunity to show what she's got next week and either she will bring something they are looking for or not. I've done my best to prepare her for either scenario and let the chips fall where they may. The Club has been very supportive and we/she owe her coach and our DOC a big thanks for all the extra work they have done to prepare her for this opportunity.

It probably helped that she was on Marci Jobson's radar. Which she has many national team ties. Good for your family and your DD. WIN WIN Baby. I hope the ride keeps going as the road is ending for many players at this age group!

To all of you well wishers,thank you very much. My dd has been very impressed with the quality of the players at the camp. She told me that the speed of play is really fast and she felt like she is still playing catch up. When she called yesterday she sounded a bit bummed. She sprained her knee in a game at the beginning of Nov. and was basically out for a month while she was in physical therapy. She worked super hard and was able to get clearance to attend the camp and even get in a couple of practices before heading to Florida. Yesterday she said even though she thought she was 90-95% she is not match fit and she said it shows. Since you all have dd's you can imagine how this phone conversation was going...to make matters even worse they send the players cleats,shoes,shirts,shorts etc that they want them to wear at camp and that box came in on Thurs or Friday. Well, needless to say her cleats were not properly broken in before Sunday and now she has a couple of major blisters on her feet. I did my best to prop her up with all the Daddyisms I could think of lol and certainly hope things go better as the week progresses. For those of you whose dd's have this opportunity in the future make sure they train on their own before going to camp as it will be the most challenging work they have faced to this point in their soccer careers. Definitely get the cleats broken in before heading to camp even if they have to wear the darn things 24-7 prior to leaving. I can't help but feel a bit guilty knowing that when she said "they'll be fine" I should have demanded more attention to that detail. Oh well, live & learn right?

I don't even know your daughter, but I am very excited for her and the opportunity she is having. I know she is very much "within the moment" right now, and from the sound of your phone call, feeling a bit of the pressure.... sometimes the curse of all female athletes to be overly critical of themselves. For what its worth she has lots of positive thoughts and well wishes being directed her way. It is extremely cool to see North Texas represented at the camp.

seriously, I am sure Dfeeters are a wonderful organization and allot of good happens, but hasn't ecnl really made them almost irrelevant, at least in ntx soccer. So they add a second team, what is going to change that the first team could not? I think we are seeing history being written and I am not sure it will be as they hope..."if" this was a business or goverment I suspect the current administration would be voted out or fired for blowing one of the best things going. Time for a change...

That's a pretty clueless statement. No club that's a member of ECNL is irrelevant. Quite the contrary.
