F90 Shooting and Finishing Camp in the North Tarrant County - December 28-31
F90 Shooting and Finishing Camp in the North Tarrant County - December 28-31
Fundamental Ninety SM believes that, within the vast majority of soccer matches among American youth teams, the prevailing philosophy simply is to react from one situation to the next. Typically, this team tendency is implemented without any proactive and cohesive strategy regarding ball movement, scoring and defense. The primary focus of the Fundamental Ninety SM soccer training program is on player development—not results in the won/lost columns. Players must physically and mentally commit to winning matches. But match wins most often are achieved by the team that most consistently and creatively applies the fundamentals of soccer from the start of the match to the 90th minute. And the most effective experience for helping young players to optimize their game consistency on and off the ball is to play the Fundamental Ninety SM way.
Shooting is the most important factor in the attacking third of the field, but poor technique or players who are unwilling to shoot often lead to goal scoring opportunities being missed. Even among the world’s elite levels of soccer, many shots pass high and wide or players can be seen to hesitate in front of goal. Thus, shooting practice should not only work on acquiring the correct techniques, but on developing the right mental attitude.
To this end, F90 will be conducting a 3 day shooting and finishing camp from December 28th-31st at Stampede Sports Arena located at 250 Player’s Circle, Southlake, TX. The camp will run from 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. The cost for attending this 3 day camp is $60.00. The training times are broken down as follows:
• 03’ and younger age groups train from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M.
• 02’ and older age groups train from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
During this camp F90 will cover and improve the following technical aspects of effective shooting and finishing:
• Putting too much power into the shot
• Overreaching
• Placement of head while striking the ball
• Leaning backwards
• Specific striking points on the ball
• Position of kicking foot before and after strike
• Strength vs. placement
During this camp, F90 will cover and improve the following mental aspects of effective shooting and finishing:
• Composure under pressure
• Confidence
• Assertiveness
• Awareness
• Courage
• Aggression
• Imagination
• Surprise…
F90 has found that camps and regular training sessions will not solely create a great player. The camps and regular training sessions combined with a player’s ability to practice on his or her own will create great players. The overall goal of the F90 Shooting and Finishing Camp is to provide effective instruction for athletes that have the ambition to practice on their own. “The vision of a champion is someone who is bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion when no one else is watching.” - Anson Dorrance
