3v3 Live This Weekend!

This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! Our Attack 05G's are ready to rumble with the 04s... we will be missing one player this weekend so will go with 4 girls. Sure hope no one turns an ankle!

For what it's worth, my DD absolutely loves the 3v3 format... if you've never played 3v3 before you should give it a try. Lots of passing and 1v1 defense. Good luck to all the teams this weekend... weather looks like it will be great!

Congrats to GalacticosReal04 (DT North Manchester) for winning it all! They beat us - Attack 05G (3 LP Hyppia players and 1 LP Barnes player) - in sudden death OT in the finals.

Super proud of our Attack 05G's for going undefeated through bracket and semi-final play. Galacticos also went undefeated.

In the championship game Galacticos were definitely the better, more experienced, team. They moved the ball beautifully and had amazing set plays off kick ins and kick offs. But the Attack girls fought and scrapped hard and were actually winning with seconds left in regulation until Galacticos scored to tie.

In OT Galacticos scored on an amazing shot from mid field to take home the hardware. They were the better team and deserved to win it. The Attack girls left with their heads held high as they gave it their best shot.

Both Galacticos and Attack are off to Disney World in January for the Kick It 3v3 World Championships. Best of luck to both... it would be AWESOME for North Texas youth soccer if both teams capture the 05G and 04G championship!

Doesn't NTX usually sweep the younger age groups? It has been 3 or 4 years since I checked in on 3v3 at Disney, but it seemed to always be NTX dominated until around u11 when we stop caring about 3v3. I know the two years my DD went NTX won ever age group above and below hers.

Heard the Dalglish girls won the 03 division yesterday going undefeated, congratulations to them, as well.

Have been to Disney with my son and the competition is usually easy for the NTX young teams. They glorify it as being the World Championships but you'd get more of a test playing a local Live or Kick It event! Still Disney makes a bucket load from the parents that weekend! Cynical? Me?

Disney will most definitely make a killing but my DD has never been more psyched to play in a tournament which is what it's all about. We will get to play teams from Wisconsin and Houston so hoping they are super salty allowing for some great games! We shall see.

Just saw the updated team list for the 05s and there are teams from TX, CO, IL, PA, and AL so far. Should be fun! Cannot wait!!
