Futsal "Showcase" Mens Game at 3 pm Saturday @ IAD

Turns out there is a futsal tournament going on at IAD / Carrollton this weekend (I35 and Frankford, on I35 Access Road northbound).

If you are in the neighborhood, the men are putting on a Showcase game at 3 pm. If you have been around the Mariel brothers, you know this is US Futsal National Team quality stuff. Free intro to what really top notch futsal looks like.

What else are you doing with the rain-outs? Free to watch from 3 - 4 pm today, Saturday. I'm going just to check it out. I want my DD to see it. Better than working on my wife's weekend list.

Went to the game, those guys are the real deal. Amazing the speed of play, first touch, movement off the ball ect... One of the Mariel brothers defending was top notch, such a low center of gravity. Impossible to get by him. If you went you got a real treat on a rainy sat.

Congrats to the '03 SRSA girls for winning the '02 division!! Heard the Men's showcase was very impressive!!

I saw the mens game. Freaking unbelievable speed and skill. It was way better than any game I've seen at Pizzahut Park. I would jump all over a chance to go see any serious mens tournament someday. Can't imagine what #2 Brazil vs #1 Spain in futsal has to look like. This is soccer on Red Bull. The ball is moving as fast as a hockey puck.

The tournament didn't have a lot of teams but the ones that were there were superskilled. I saw some great games in 99, 01 and 02. In additional to SRSA03, Solar Bates was there too that makes it the #1 teams from 03 and 01. More kids need to join the futsal revolution. These skills would improve north texas soccer against other strong soccer areas of the US. It shouldn't be just the top kids from the top teams that get exposed to brazilian ball skills.
