Rush had an off day, but LA played great. LA seemed to win most of the 50/50 balls and moved the ball very well.
Was a tight game in the first half, 1-0. Then LA put in 3 more on great ball movement and some great shots.

The referee called the game at halftime because the Futbolitas coach didn't bring his team out on the field in time. It was sort of ridiculous on the referee's part.

The same referee kicked 2 players off the field making both of them cry because they were jockeying for position during a goal kick. His explanation was that they "might" start pushing next. Another ridiculous move.

We played 2nd half with one of the coaches officiating.

Wow, I would say both incidents are ridiculous, should be reported to the league. Is that what we pay for in NTX?

I heard which girl it was on Fever that was sent off, and having played them several times, and Futbolitas, all I can say is...it's about time! Players need to be taught the RIGHT way to play at this age. Not how to hip check and body check like a hockey player, which is what I have witnessed them being taught and encouraged to do. I am not sure if by "jockeying" you mean lowering your shoulder and physically trying to knock another girl off her feet, or approaching every challenge and tackle with your elbows up.

It's a tough lesson for girls to learn at this age, but I hope that it is not just the DD that learns something from this, but thier coaches who teach and promote this type of play also.

I only saw a few minutes in the first half and 2 goals by cosmos. I thought they had hypia beat. From what I saw cosmos looked like the better team. I guess I should have stuck around for the rest of the game. Way to show some heart against a bigger physical team. Congrates to Hypia. I'd like to see them play a top 10 04 team I think it would be a great game with the way they move the ball around.

Not sure I get your point. The referee said what they were doing was legal. No hip or body checks and no lowering of the shoulders. He said he was afraid that it "could" escalate to something more. It could have been a teaching moment. or wait until they do something illegal and call it.

The lesson they learned was that they can get kicked out for playing legally. That doesn't seem right.
