Memorial Service for Janey Fields

The NTX Soccer community lost an dear friend this week. If you have been around NTX soccer since the 80's, you have most likely ran into Janey at some soccer field around DFW.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 26, 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church on 1200 E. Hebron Pkwy, Carrollton, TX.

Janey spent many years giving her time to NTSSA.

Some accomplishments:

• Kick Cancer Tournament 1983/1987 Raising over $24,000
• Budweiser Labor/day Adult Soccer Tournament (Blast) 1983
(Raised $10,000 for Muscular Dystrophy).
• Dr Pepper Texas Open 1982 (500+ teams)
• Director of Vendor Services, 1982 USSF, AGM (Dallas)
• NTSSA Cups & Games Chairman 1982-83
• NTSSA Heat’s Advisory Committee 1999, 2000 and Heat Volunteer Staff 199 AND 2000 NTCSA
• Member NTCSA Hall of Honor
• League Commissioner, Secretary and much more from NTCSA’s sanctioning date of 1984 until it became an independent league in 1993
• Coach, NTCSA 1984 on… NTPSA North Texas Premier Soccer Association
• Assisted with the founding of Metro United Soccer Tournament (MUST) 1981 until 1993
• Assisted with coordination of Special Olympics Soccer Day for NTPSA 1987/1989
• Assisted with the Texas Kicker 1983-84 and Soccer Texas 1985-86 North Texas Women’s Soccer Association
• One of the founders of NTWSA
• Founded the NTWSA Historical Committee

Indoor Soccer:
• Assisted organization of 1st. Indoor Soccer in our area, Richardson’s Soccer Center 1981/’82
1. Assisted with the securing the first sanctioning for indoor soccer through NTSSA for NTPSA and NTWSA 198 as a fund raiser, first in the US and most likely the world.
2. Assisted and co-signed the 1,005 acre plot which was to be soccer fields for the women and men.
3. Helped organized and ran first three Thanksgiving Tournaments for Soccer Center
4. Helped coordinate division placement, rules organization and A&D the first 3 years
• Helped organize Tatu's Indoor Soccer in Dallas 1985 and team placement along with A&D
• Assisted with Dallas Sidekicks Community Advisory Committee 1985/1990, where we sat up a system where every referee had an opportunity to do half-time games from the floor
• Assisted with the first National Indoor Championship (SMI)

Janey will be missed...
