Okay, I guess I'm just a bit slow. I've read it twice now, so please explain to me what unbalanced brackets are. There were 4 teams in Bracket A and 3 teams each in Brackets B & C. Help me to understand how them not being there would have unbalanced the brackets?

was told it was a last minute add for the tournament (I assumed thats would be a reason for the tournament but maybe there are othere?). So should probably put that out to whoever ran the tourney. It was a planned week off for both teams so it was open to whoever wanted to play first come first serve. The Daglish manager was organizing so I assume most of the girls would be from dalglish. Maybe the tourney Dir put the call out to multiple teams and they all took them up on it? But then again I don't pay much attention to the who won whats so maybe there is a greater conspiracy afloat that I am unaware of. Suspect

AFC folks posted on here needing a team to make their brackets work. So we put a team together on Monday to play Friday.

I Know for a FACT the Dalglish Coach Cares about Results or @ the Very Least Cared about Results this Past Weekend...My Daughter's Team Played Dalglish Twice in that Tournament...After a CLOSER than Expected 1st Half, w/Dalglish Taking a 1-0 Lead in the Closing Seconds, the Coach STARTED Every Rase Girl he had @ his Disposal & they Played the BULK of the 2nd Half...The Coach was Also Overheard Telling them that they Needed to "Score @ Least 4 Goals" in the 2nd Half...When we Met them Again in the Semi-Finals, EVERY Available Rase Girl Again Started & Played the Majority of the Game...

To be Clear, I have Absolutely NO PROBLEM Whatsoever w/Any Of That, just DON'T Come Back & Tell Me that Results DON'T Matter to Liverpool when Actions Indicate Otherwise...In the World of COMPETITIVE Soccer WE ALL Care about Results...

never said he didn't care about results. I said he was MORE interested in HOW they play than the results. I am sorry your team lost to Dalglish this past weekend but I don't think it was the first time and also without any RASE girls. We have been with LW a long time and I have seen him bring on a girl when it was her time to substitute. Knowing she was too slow and would be beat. The game was tied and very tight. Would have been easy to go for the win. But when it was time to put up or shut up, he put up. As soon as she got on the field she was out ran and scored on. It was the only game we lost that season (not everybody was as pleased as I was). I have seen the team struggle to execute (especially early on)when the girls just wanted to kick it out and out run and overpower the other team but LW there constantly telling them to play their way.I have seen him encourage the girls to play the ball back even in the face of a faster stronger team. I have seen defenders told to play their way out of pressure instead of kick it out. Its all very easy to do when you win but I have also seen this when we lose.

Give it a rest. No one was complaining. I think some people get tired of the LW is Jesus Christ sentiment on this site and how Liverpool is the only team who wants to develop and cares nothing about winning ect... blah blah... LW has one great team in the 04 RASE, built mostly of recruits from 5 different teams. Big deal. There are coaches with much more impressive track records on DEVELOPMENT in academy than LW.

I think the point was there said to be a secret strategy to beat RASE. My point was that if it exist then it would certianly work because LW would not change what what they are doing just to win a game. ? My DD did not play in a tournament this weekend and if she played on a 04 team that would be a problem. Try again.

But there you go again though with the not so subtle "Our coach is the best to envy ect".... I admit the level of obnoxious comments from LP parents has dropped dramatically in the past 12 months, but I don't believe for a second you or any of your parents believe LW will let a team drop consistently for "development".

no I think he understand the reality of NTX. he must win enough to keep his team together but balance it with a need to teach them how to play what he feels is the right was. You must win to keep parents and even the great LW can't change that. Oh and by you guys I ment DTS 04. It was good to see them back to the forefront. Hopefully they can get to the level of the 03 team.

Wow! Who even follows these kids on other teams that closely to know who playes where and when? Dude, this stuff is chewing you up too much.
From what I saw was at least 2 of the 3 subs at the start of the every game were RASE girls. Dalglish kids got the bulk of the playing time.
It is a shame you have such a cynical outlook on this game. Your kid is only eight years old - just imagine how more bitter and twisted you'll be in 6 or 7 more years !

Been around long enough to see the result oriented parents fade away. Watched as the win now posters dissappeared from the boys message board. The best group of 8 yr olds aren't necessarily the best 10 yr olds and many of those may no longer be competative by 15. Some RASE parents want to win more than others. LW isn't the only coach with a development focus but there are more who are all about the results. I would accept that parents on your team are results oriented and that most parents are. I would also say that is why soccer here is in general so poor. I remeber a team that dominated my sons age group in academy. our team was the only team to even stay under double digits. Then they played up and where the stuff of legends. A few kids from the team still do well, many struggle for playtime now, and others aren't even around anymore. Results and learning to play are different. Don't know about your coach but there are coaches that understand that

Didn't mean to add fuel to the fire, but now that it's burning.. Too many posts to quote, so I'll just scattershoot. First off, I agree with Duecee's daddy on virtually everything. Furthermore this stuff I read in prior post about LP rousting up volunteers to play..I think they woulda had enough without the RASE players. My DD's roster had 10, but due to a couple of situations, had 9 available for game 2 and played with 8 in game 3 and still finished 2-1. As Duecee's daddy outlined, the RASE players were played to win, plain and simple which I have no prob with either, but let's say it like it is. Perhaps because the regulars got beat the previous week? I know I'm about open up another can, but what annoys me, which hasn't been said yet, is the arrogance of the LP players not taking a knee (on more than one occasion) when opposing players went down, even when it was "suggested" from the opposing sideline, or the arrogance of a player scoring a goal and thanking the goalie for the goal and then telling the goalie that she didn't deserve to be on the field. I'm not hating and I'm not crying. It is what it is. As I tell my DD, just have to get up and keep on playing..

Its my opinion that the opposing sideline should not suggest anything to the other teams players during a game. As for as taking a knee, well you dont see that done very often outside of rec ball. Not taking a knee is not a sign of disrespect.

none of that has ever happened with RASE and can't say for Dalglish because my DD doesn't play there. I do know for fact the team was put together thru volunteers to play. DD wanted to cancel her playdate with a school friend so she could play. It was clearly offered to all as a first come first serve. Now of course the team manager could have lied to us all and you could truly have the inside story. He seems like a honest stand up guy so I take him at his word but if you guys feel like he lied to RASE just to trick some players into playing so he could win the tournament then I guess you know alot more about the tournament and him than I do.

waa-waa. There is no crying on here. Too many "but"s in DD Daddys and your post. So are you mad because Liverpool won? Did they use players outide the club? Older players? Im sure we can find at least a hundred posts on here where WE demanded RASE to play down in an 04 tourney. Now we get a team with a partial RASE roster and they win it and NOW yall crying because yall lost BUT yall not complaining. HAHHAHA.

I would love to play RASE or against them every other week. And tell my DD she better tighten the shoe laces up and bring the A game. If we lose, we lose. Quit feeding them excuses. I have yet to find an allstar playing for alosing team. Wins matter, thank goodness. If you buy into the "its OK that we are losing now, we will be a better team in a couple years, you watch!", I got some magic water I wanna sell.

And kneeling for injuries is over-rated. I want my DD getting hydrated and getting last second instructions, and communicating with teammates.
