All the coach did was get the DD's team into a lot of major showcase tournaments.
It was 100% up to our DD to contact the attending college coaches and let them know that she was interested in joining their program. After a tournament was over, she would follow up with all the college coaches that she had contacted that actually attended her games. The ones that were interested in her would respond with an invitation to make an unofficial visit. We ended up visiting four campuses before she made her choice.
Not sure whether our experience was typical, but the coach and club had nothing whatsoever to do with the recruiting process.

I am sorry that your coach was so lazy. You need one that is actively involved.

Our coach would call the college that any of the girls had an interest in. He would then report back on interest. He would field the calls that our girls could not because of recruiting rules. Our club and coach had a lot to do with it.

I would sure hope that your experience is more typical than ours was. The DD is headed to the college of her choice on a soccer scholarship so it all worked out, but I did expect active involvement from the coach and we didn't get it.
