Misleading Title?
After reading about the Grant Competition it looks as though the US Soccer Foundation will contribute Grants for persons or organizations to build a field of dreams to help disadvantaged kids play soccer. I imagine a parking lot picture in a urban environment being a better candidate for such a grant.

good point. I imagine by the wording of the tweet, that they are making a plea to US Soccer to build the land into fields.
"@ussoccerfndn 25 acres of pasture land in a great location just waiting to be soccer fields. #fieldofdreams pic.twitter.com/x6R0n6XG"
nowhere in there did they imply that the Texans already own this land, nor do they plan to build there. Looks more like wishful thinking on the Texans part.

The USSF gant is only for $8,000. That wouldn't get you much on a big piece of property like that. I'd imagine they must have some plans already in place and this money would just supplement existing funds.

How so? Are girl's squads not allowed at Ross Stewart? Seems to me that every time I'm there, plenty of girl's teamslarry7405 wrote:Even if they build it our DD's will never see it..Texans cater to the boys...
are practicing on RS fields. So why would you make a statement like that? I'm interested to hear your perspective.

I'm looking for facts and/or figures more than just an opinion.
What is it that you see that puts the girls in the boy's shadows?
Give us something to work with.
I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, I just want to know where that statement is coming from.

team while the girls that made Ecnl still had to pay there dues.
Only reason they paid this yr was because the boys side did not represent well at Dallas Cup from what ive heard.

Yeah I heard it went like this , "I know we said your dues would be waived but, well you guys suck, so now you have to pay" The reasoning was if they charge more then they will get better players and results.

Used to be, but slowly changing.
The U17 and U18 Texans ECNL teams get full waiver on uniforms and partial waiver on dues. I believe this is already in effect starting this year. As far as I know, Texans is the only Club to do that. Obviously it will be great if they can do that to all age groups in ECNL (U14 - U18), but at least it is a good start and at some point the upcoming age groups will benefit on the inclusion too.

Since my dd is U16 this year, I hope all ECNL do something similar next year! Although I just bought new uniforms so I'll just need reduced dues.... I'll take whatever I can get!
I don't see D'Feeters doing this though, as they don't have a lot of teams to pull $$$ from. FCD and Sting should be able to, as well as Solar.

I hear you.
I strongly believe that if Texans can maintain this for the next two years, you will see the pressure on other Clubs to do the same or risk losing their top talents. Already some Clubs are kind of doing this by offering partial scholarships to selected few, but this is different. It will be across the whole roster and the push will just be too great to ignore it.
I can see this catching up on all Clubs, including Feet, pretty soon. Evolve or become extinct.

Maybe Advocare can kick in a few extra bucks to cover the FCD kids?!?!
