Need Advice - Travel Tournaments in the Spring Empty Need Advice - Travel Tournaments in the Spring

Post by DevilsAdvocate 27/07/12, 04:30 pm

Doing some advance planning and need some veterans to chime in again. Looking at traveling outside of Texas/OK area this Spring, but not too familiar with the tournaments other then what I find in GotSoccer.com.

Any travel tournament recommendations on something in April/May/June that's within reasonable driving distance? Maybe in Kansas, Missouri, parts of Colorado?

Not looking for highest level of competition participating. Mid level teams or multiple divisions is what we're looking for.

Appreciate any info that can be sent my way.

Be aware that depending on the age Kansas and Missouri at least dont play 11 v 11 until after u12 more 13 and up. So be prepared to play 9 v 9 if you look into tournys there. Not sure if Colorado is the same. Not really sure what tournys are the best but thought the info of KS and MO might be good to know

Sereno in Arizona is always good.

Real Colorado Cup in Colorado.

If you are a mid tier team you might sign up for the Presidents Cup, you get to play in a decent local tournament and travel if you advance to represent NTX.

Solar Gold 99 did Rocky Mountain Cup in CO in June- that might meet your criteria.

Not sure of your daughter's age group, but Colorado does play 11 v 11 starting at U-11. The high school girls season is in the spring, so there really aren't spring tournaments until the REAL Cup and Showcase tournaments on Memorial Day weekend. It's a big tournament and attracts many teams. Colorado Rush hosts the Rush open in early June.

Colorado tryouts are usually right after Memorial Day weekend, so several teams invite their new players to guest play in the Rush Open. If school is out, it's a great opportunity for the family to take a few extra days and make a little vacation out of the tournament.
